Jim, my guide from Eaton Outfitters. A retired biology teacher turned summer fishing guide, he was able to provide a lot of interesting facts about the area, especially identifying birds and other wildlife that we encountered. Great guy; provided a lot of fishing pointers and lots of friendly conversation.
During Out For Adventure's Guide Training its imperative that guides make copious notes of the material presented. Slide shows and white boards are all part of the module. Sea kayaking guides are an extremely hard working group that take their job very seriously.
Clients may be excused for thinking the job is so easy when they think of paddling all day and getting paid for it but these guys and girls have a lot of background work done well in advance.
