Just like the mountains, he watches over me. And the best part not another soul around. He placed himself in all my pics... It is definitely all about Rooster. I think he has me trained because we hike everyday rain or shine or he starts to whine incessantly. lol

Santa Ifigenia Cemetery (Spanish: Cementerio Santa Ifigenia) is a cemetery in Santiago de Cuba and resting place of a few notable Cubans inluding Fidel Castro.
The cemetery opened in 1868 to replace smaller Cemetery of Santa Ana.[1]
The signature resting place is that of José Martí, whose mausoleum is guarded by three Cuban soldiers at the entrance. A round-the-clock guard of the mausoleum is changed, amid much pomp and ceremony, every 30 minutes.
The life guard towers designed by the architect Arne Jacobsen, standing tall against a breathtaking backdrop. These sleek and minimalist structures, with their clean lines and distinctive shape, harmoniously blend with the surrounding natural beauty.

This crow was being very vocal on the gate. It gave me a good laugh when I saw the sign. That crow was making sure that no one disobeyed that sign.
Slender Tailed Meerkat (Suricata suricatta)
Meerkats are members of the mongoose family that live together in complex social groupings. They grow to be 10 to 14 inches long with a tail length that nearly doubles that. Meerkats have a slow metabolism, which allows them to live comfortably in natural environments with consistently warm temperatures. They spend most of their time foraging, basking in the sun and grooming, all except for this one which is currently on sentry duty, keeping an eye out for danger from eagles etc.

If you ever see a guy wearing a suit and a camera backpack hiking through the woods, it's probably me (who else does that?).
I always have my camera with me when I'm traveling for work. And when I see something interesting near the road and have some time, I spontaneously go on a little exploration tour.
So today I came to this cool forest, which is not far from the motorway near Ludwigsfelde. Shortly before a parking lot I saw a few of these “forest creatures” out of the corner of my eye. So I parked my car there and walked back. Luckily, all motorway parking lots have a rear exit that is always open. I've taken advantage of this several times.
On my way back I had to go through this group of mossy guards. who stand here and take a closer look at everyone who wants to pass by. Luckily they did let me through. I was immediately completely fascinated by this sight.
I first made a much brighter version of this scene and then decided on this one. On the one hand, I think it can convey the mystical atmosphere better and, on the other hand, because the mossy branches are shown off better here.
I also took a few close-up photos, so you'll be able to get a closer look for yourself shortly.

Proverbs 4:23
Above everything else, guard your heart;
for it is the source of life’s consequences.
No poetic attempt today just one good verse that comes to mind when I see this picture.
Looks like a sword and heart to me.
