Protest called by Unite the Union, as part of a national day of action, against Tory government benefit sanctions. 300,000 people have had their benefits suddenly stopped by sanctions in the last 12 months, many of whom have been plunged into poverty, unable to heat their homes or even eat. The demo assembled opposite Parliament then marched to Caxton House - where the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has it's headquarters - and their banners included one with the names of some of the people who have reportedly died as a result of sanctions.

we propagated an avocado seed.
Eat an avocado, save the seed, put an x on the bottom of the seed with a knife, suspend it in a small shallow jar, with nails or toothpicks in its side. soon it will grow a root, and when you think the root is long enough (an inch or two) put it in the soil, not very deep from the top, and wait.
