From an old photo album we bought at a thrift store in Texas several years back. Many of the photos were trimmed to fit in the square sleeves; this is the only one where one of the trimmings was left.
The WOW word on this week was 'gathering'. Before I decide to take photo of my family, I also considered about taking photos of my friends. However, I couldn't catch the feeling I wanted to show in the photo. My purpose was to show kind of love, warmth and calmed feeling of people, and photos of my friends gave very exciting, fresh, and little bit hyper feeling. Sometimes I feel like I'm using my family members too often, but they know exactly what I want from my photos, and I don't need to hurry, because they are always there!
Anyway, this photo makes me feel being loved and relaxed. The message is, usually family spends time separately in daytime and when night comes, they all gather up and sleep together, and be one family...
My dad is actually sleeping in the photo, and others are just pretending. My little sister couldn't help herself laughing. I didn't like it at first, but I think it would be too boring if there isn't any emotional face.

This one actually turned out pretty awesome, except for the fact that Casey isn't in it and the fact that Bryan isn't looking at the camera. I think this was around the time I started calling out "ONE, TWO, THREE, SMILE!" for every camera, so people were still listening to me.

Clinton, Hortense, 12 children. My grandmother, Julia and her twin sister June the youngest. They were in the lumber business in Western Penna. My dad told me that they would forge a raft from timber, pilot it down the river to Ohio, sell the timber, and then go back to Pa. and do it all again. I asked him, "How did they get back?" and he said, "They walked back."
Tough resilient people.
