There is part of a series from a whole album of photos that belonged to my Grandfather called "Stone's Cottage." What was Stone's Cottage? I don't know. The pictures are charming snapshots of life for young professionals in the early 1900s.

Most of the ladies were new schoolteachers. Most of the men were bankers and lawyers. My grandfather posed, lit , shot and developed the photographs, so he is rarely portrayed here.

It is his eye through which we see.

The Burton family asked me to shoot some portraits for them. We went to a nearby creek and took some. This is one of my favorites from the session.

All that matters is to be at one with the living God

to be a creature in the house of the God of Life.

Like a cat asleep on a chair

at peace, in peace

and at one with the master of the house, with the mistress,

at home, at home in the house of the living,

sleeping on the hearth, and yawning before the fire.

Sleeping on the hearth of the living world

yawning at home before the fire of life

feeling the presence of the living God

like a great reassurance

a deep calm in the heart

a presence

as of the master sitting at the board

in his own and greater being,

in the house of life.

Lawn Vespers is an annual fall event at Southern’s Goliath Wall. This year, Christian artist Terell Davy from Nashville led the university in worship before performing several original songs from his album Deeper.

Oil on canvas; 145 × 206 cm.

Henry Raeburn was pre-eminent among Scottish artists. He was knighted by George IV in 1822, and appointed king’s limner for Scotland a few days before his death. His style was to some extent founded on that of Joshua Reynolds, but his bold brushwork and brave use of contrasting colors make his works original. Among his sitters were the writer Sir Walter Scott, philosopher David Hume and other outstanding men of Scotland.

An outing on Sydney Harbour of members of the Ancient Mariners' League.

(Ferguson Collection - Nat Library of Aust)

Around the table- My dad, my mum, (Dave and Wendy) my (little)brother Jack, and my partner in crime, Christian.And me, I suppose 8}

It's not a great photo of us all, we're much more attractive irl, promise, but it's so nice to have a photo of the whole house together. I love them all so much. My family gives us so much and I wish I could give them half as much as they even try to give me.

My christmas wishes are:

I wish it's easier to deal with my illness this year. I don't mind if it stick around, but I do hope it gets easier for me to do the things I want to do.

I wish for Chris and I to stay as happy as we are now, and maybe make some plans reality and move to a place of our own, illness forgiving.

I wish for my brother to find it easier dealing with his troubles, and I hope he finds happiness with his new girlfriend, and a few new friends.

I wish for my mother to find a way to deal with her children's troubles, and find time and happiness for herself.

I wish for my dad to do the same, and to also realise that it's okay to enjoy things for himself once in a while.

I hope my family does a bit better this year. we've all been through for much shit and I'm reeeaaallly hoping it gets a bit easier, or at least no worse, this next year.

Merry Christmas guys!

Off to church. This must have been Easter Sunday in the 1950s in Kane Pa. I remember that doorknob in the middle of the door at the house on Laurel Ave. This must have been right around the time that Tom was born. There are people you are in relationship with your entire life, no matter how you feel about them or they feel about you. The DNA that you share pulses together and you must accept what it tells you.

Activists, Human Rights Defenders, founders of Abortion Dream Team (ADT) ngo in Poland and Abortion Without Borders, international movement, (from left to right) Natalia Broniarczyk, Justyna Wydrzyńska, Kinga Jelińska, Karolina Więckiewicz. Right to a safe abortion in Poland is very restricted and since the ruling of Constitutional Tribunal in October 2020, when abortion on basis of fetus defect was banned, having legal abortion became almost impossible. These 4 brave women from ADT provide counseling, funding for travel abroad for abortion and reliable information in line with the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines for safe pill abortion. In 2021, the prosecutor's office charged Justyna for helping a pregnant woman to obtain abortion pills. The portraits were made for Amnesty International campaign to support Justyna and call on the polish Attorney General to drop the charges against her.
