The Pokémon tournaments are always popular, and battles are (mostly) very closely matched. The handheld consoles are linked to a Wii which is then displayed on the monitor, which makes for a much more entertaining battle.

A spectator watches as a Pokémon battle commences. For many with an interest in videogames watching a competition can be just as riveting as a football fan watching the cup final.

Quite a lot of work goes into training for a Pokémon tournament, and preparation is everything.
