Tulus (45) is a friendly, smart elephant. That's the reason why the groupds was chosen him to be the elephant's leader at the Padang Sugihan Wildlife Reserve Elephant Training Center.

The Pearl Delta is like a little United Nations with many ethnic groupd and cultures... here you see busy ECOs at lunch and young hospitality minoity serving tea...
“Couldn't be better”
groupd of us stayed here for one night, then returned later in the week for a further 3 nights.
This is a FANTASTIC riad to stay at. We were picked up from the railway station after a sleeper train trip from Tangier, allowed to drop our bags, shower etc. Then we were served breakfast (which we were'nt expecting!) - bread + jam, pancakes, omellettes, freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee. All excellent.
One of the guys from the riad then showed us the route to Jemma El Fna square, gave us a map and guided us there for our first trip, pointing out the turnings to remember.
We have a complimentary dinner at the riad on the first night, it was absolutely delicious and possibly the best food we ate in Morocco for the whole of our holiday.
When we returned later in the week, we were shown the same hospitality and friendliness. This even extended to one of the guys helping us out randomly on the street. We were a little lost with a pack of kids circling and bothering us, it was no problem at all for him to tell the kids to beat it and set us on the right way.
Anytime we saw any of the people from the riad in town or riding their scooter through the medina they made sure to say hello.
This morning we were taken to the airport.
On Saturday we arranged a day trip to Essaouria through the riad and met the owner, Oliver at a new riad he is putting the finishing touches to there. This was an experience in itself as anyone who has met Oliver will imagine! A really friendly guy who showed us great hospitality in Essaouria, we drank mint tea in his riad, then he and some of his friends walked us along the beach to a really good lunch spot. The we were left to explore the town. We gave him a ring to join us for coffee and he showed us a few more of the sites before we set off for Marrakech.
Back to Dar Najat. It's nicely decorated and furnished and kept spotlessly clean. Very chilled out, the guys live there but are happy for you to spend all day chilling out there if you want to. Breakfast is served at whatever time you request.
Being a traditional riad the walls are very thick so it's quiet and cool inside. There is air conditioning but we didn't need to use it. To the idiot that complained about there being no windows in the bedroom - think about it!!! Actually there are windows into the lovely internal courtyard.
Beds were very comfortable and he riad is very quiet at night making for an easy nights sleep.
Nice hot showers.
For location, decor, comfort, convenience, pleasant and friendly staff who go out of their way to help you then stop looking and book Dar Najat!

The Goroka Show is the most famous tribal gathering and cultural event in Papua New Guinea. It is a Sing-sing held every year close to the country's Independence Day (16 September) in the town of Goroka, the capital of the Eastern Highlands Province. Over 100 groupd arrive to show their music, dance and culture. The festival started in the mid-1950s when PNG was still a colony.
Where possible I will try to identify the tribal groups / villages of the Singsing groups. I believe this is the Eyarokawe village group from Daulo district.
