Winter Aconite
I like the way that on the greyish, colourless winter earth the bright yellow gives the impression that some sort of filter has been used, but it hasn't.
I took this with a 135mm but couldn't get close enough so I used the aps-c mode hence the exif showing 202mm, but with a 135mm f1.8, full frame d.o.f.

I need to cool down as I'm not a great fan of hot weather. This shot of Cwm Idwal earlier in the year looks suitably refreshing and reflective to me. Cold Cold Ground by Tom Waits is fairly obvious. Today will be another hot day showing people High Brown Fritillaries.
When I was at Jackson Bottom last weekend, this California Groundsquirrel was on a path ahead of me. it was reluctant to leave the path, so I just settled lower and took shots.
There were several different “rodents” running around in the fields out west. The beauty of camping along the way is that you get better opportunities to capture the wildlife around you. It was also spring when we travelled which meant lots of young life around. This Prairie Dog mom is letting her young one nurse. These animals are cute and quite social but many farmers think they are a nuisance because of all the holes they dig.

That's why I always wear my hiking boots. I hope to be able to start exploring those trails as soon as the weather suits me. (I accidentally entered the wrong ISO setting when placing the camera on the floor near my shoe and while loosening my laces to take the photo.) : /
