Experimenting with converting to "IR" in photoshop... this is all I can do until I can afford an IR filter. As lyrical points out below, this is more like a red filter than IR, but I just liked the contrast between the sunlit side and the clouds.

Direct scan of the graphic used to illustrate the back cover of the book and the Advent calender included with "The Story of Christmas," adapted by Kathryn Jackson, illustrated by Augie Napoli, 1973.

I found this book in a used bookstore in California, with the stand-alone fold out calendar. It has a Scripture-based reading for the 24 days before Christmas, and lavish illustrations. I read from this book to each of my two kids for years and years as part of our family's Advent devotions.

(cont.) …we find the store’s selection of vinyl, shown better in this view angled more toward the left-side wall. I can’t say for certain, but I believe that’s new vinyl on the standing display on the left of the shot, while I’m pretty certain the wide “sift-through” style shelving unit is home to used vinyl. In addition to vinyl, the back half of this pic shows some additional aisles (see all the blue category markers) serving as home to new CDs.

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)

Roxy was listening to music from Peter's Ipad. In borrowed shoes, she could have been from the Fifties!

At the camera club last night, neither of the two pictures I entered into the PDI competition (my first!) did very well at all! :-( But, on the positive side, at least I had a go, I also got some useful feedback (like, use a ruddy tripod!) and - I can't do any worse...

So to cheer myself up, today I went for a bit of Friday fun and Hipsta silliness :-)

I took a trip to Texas last weekend. First time there. I loved it, and everyone I ran into was so nice. I took along my trusty camera, and found some cool photo ops on my journeys.

I almost skidded on the brakes when I saw this sign. One of the best I've ever run across. And the Texas sunset helped immensely.

Portrait shot of Blackchurch Road as the sun was setting behind us. was a totally clear night so no clouds to light-up but the glow on the rocks was fantastic.
