has the best, biggest pancakes ever! This was a special order. Strawberries, blueberries, and pecans. mmm Took dad on his visit.
I always, w/o fail, marinate my skirt steak. I use a bottle or two of low sodium teriyaki soy sauce (kikoman I think), and to that I add several healthy dashes of Worcester Sauce, plenty of garlic (crushed) and pepper (fresh ground). I'll let the meat marinate for a week in my fridge. Trust me, let it roll for a week in your fridge, and I put them in a gallon baggie (freezer spec)
Only cut the skirt steak up after it marinaded, now when I cook on my charcoal grill, I don't cut the steaks into segments like you see here but I put these steaks on my new 36" Blackstone Flat Top Griddle, and felt they would cook more evenly if the steaks were uniform, and that meant cutting into the segments you see here
slices of baked ham, poached eggs on top of baked? fried? potato skin boats, and covered in hollandaise.
Bought a new griddle pan on the weekend and have been griddling every day since. It is a proper cast iron one and it makes all the food you cook on it taste really nice and smoky. These were just some courgettes I was making to have with our lunch.

I made breakfast this morning, and something strange happened. I cracked five eggs, and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM had a double yolk. I can’t say that I’ve ever experienced that before, not to mention the fact that the last three eggs we used from this dozen were ALSO double yolks. WTF‽
After a meeting near the square, Emily and I walked over to East Side to satisfy our banh mi cravings and remembered today was East Side’s 5th birthday party. Mom and Dad were there so we stopped and chatted with them for awhile. Cameron, Kitty, and Taylor were all there working so we got to say hey to them too.
A great foldable long handled frying pan from Muurikka. Perfect for a meal for two, easy to carry. Very popular with hikers, anglers and bikers.
First time I've prepared sauted onions and mushrooms on a griddle, and I LIKE IT!
Really nice having enough realestate it do the job properly
This was the first time I'd been seated at the counter at the Deluxe Towne Diner in Watertown. It's a bit too loud for conversation, but I had to get a picture of the griddle. So much pancakey goodness!
Keep a iron griddle handy so you can slap together a grilled cheese on short notice. Use olive oil instead of smearing the bread with butter.
Halloumi cheese griddled for a few minutes, served on salad leaves from the garden dressed with a citrus vinaigrette.
I learned my lesson. 3 Griddle Cafe Pancakes are too much for anyone. 2 is still too much, but it seemed more reasonable.
The baked apples really made these cakes classic.
Again, no syrup necessary!

Murtabak (aka Martabak, Mutabbaq) is a stuffed thin pancake with a spiced meat mixture. The balls of dough in the plastic bucket are similar to roti canai, a thin flatbread. In Malaysia, both dishes originated from Indian Muslim food establishments but is beloved by all ethnic groups.
My mother used to make hers a day ahead and refrigerate them to griddle later. That meant she'd already place the meat mixture into the centre of the dough, and since she was usually in a hurry, the steam from the hot mixture would cause the dough to be soggy D:
Ok, I think this is my first food photography shot for my 365. Hooray for food! ;-)
Since I was in SD with plenty of time in the mornings, I decided to hit up the famous Hash House (a Go Go?). When I read the reviews on Yelp, they talked about the huuuuge plates and servings and boy, they were right! This plate, although it's hard to tell, was gigantic and literally almost bigger than me. (I had a few ppl who came in make comments about that too). This was their Griddled French Toast, and yum yum it was good!!!
Also, if you go here, remember to come early or even if you do come early, be prepared to wait. I think it's worth it. Since I was dining alone, I was seated right away and happy for that since I had to lay down after, then get ready for Day 2 of yoga. :-) It was a happy tummy and body weekend!
