I designed it because I was in need of something simple that kind of says “hand-drawn/handmade” and also that you solve the puzzles I make on paper. The pen idea came from when I was just slopping together a logo for an experimental Spanish version of my site for my Spanish class.
The logo was made in Inkscape and looks best on white. On my business cards it’s on a plain white background, but on my site it has a white glow and is over top of a header background
I love you, pawn shop griddler. You make my trader joe's masala burgers so lovely and crisp. (pssst... the top does get hot enough to toast buns, if you feel the need).
Before I removed an old electric range 6 years ago, it went where the green paint shows. Since its removal, I've used a 2 burner Waring Pro hotplate to cook, with electric griddle, microwave, and a Breville Smart Oven convection--which is a joy to use

Teppanyaki (鉄板焼き, teppan'yaki) is a style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food. The word teppanyaki is derived from teppan (鉄板), which means iron plate, and yaki (焼き), which means grilled, broiled or pan-fried. In Japan, teppanyaki refers to dishes cooked using an iron plate, including steak, shrimp, okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and monjayaki.
Modern Teppanyaki grills are typically propane heated flat surface grills and are widely used to cook food in front of guests at restaurants. Teppanyaki grills are commonly confused with the Hibachi Grill, which has a charcoal or gas flame and is made with an open grate design. With a solid griddle type cook surface the Teppanyaki is more suitable for cuisine that calls for smaller ingredients such as rice, egg, and finely chopped vegetables.

These delicious cakes are made of odd bits of fresh steelhead flesh that were left when the fillets were cut. Coarsely chopped, mixed with an egg, bread crumbs, diced onion and grated carrots and cooked on a stove top griddle.

This is the original kitchen cupboard Mom used in the cabin, you can see it had to be repaired with plywood and it was used for storage in a workshop for years. The pancake griddle my mother used for over 50 years, almost every morning.

Warm salad of griddled halloumi, wilted spinach and pine nuts
A bit of a "what’s in the fridge" lunch. Toasted the pinenuts. Wilted the spinach with some nutmeg & orange juice. Briefly marinaded the halluomi in extra virgin olive oil & chilli before griddling over a medium high heat, with a good squeeze of lemon juice at the end.
Now must go restock the fridge!
On our last morning home, we had brunch with BJ, Kat and Joey at our FAVORITE breakfast place in Hollywood: The Wonderful Griddle Cafe. Yum. (MIke and I had one of our very first dates here.)

I could measure my life in coffee spoons, I could measure my life in the ebb and the flow, the splash of angry froth over the rocks, the pools of saline that remain in shallow valleys between the aging boulders, pools for wading, watching and waiting the waxing and waning.
From the back of the card: "TO SERVE: AS A CAKE without butter or with butter."
Eh?
I really like that coffee-pot and the cups. Still modern-looking.

We baked traditional Welsh bakestones today (a little like a welshcake, only smaller and sweeter), from a recipe given to me by my husband's grandmother. It's the best recipe for bakestones that I have ever tasted! Baked on a traditional welsh griddle (or bakestone) - nothing could taste better!

Mmmm Day 18 was delicious!
