it was so great to see rain on the Darling Downs - even after just a little rain everything begins to look green again.
As we were driving along the Monaro Highway in Canberra Ian saw a plane heading towards the Airport. We pulled over when it was safe to do so. I had my camera on the ready and got a few shots from the car. It's an QANTAS B737.

Some extraordinary and rapidly changing lighting conditions as very brief periods during which the sun almost breaks through the cloud cover create a dramatic view. Great Dun Fell, the second highest point in the Pennines at 848 metres (2,782 ft), with its air traffic control radar dome standing out in hazy sunshine. The Harwood and Cow Green access road winds it way up the hillside, passing close to Peghorn Lodge farm in the middle distance.
I'm not sure want type of plane this.We went to Bathurst Airport to look around and I saw this plane parked. .

Arla Burn and West Farms Middleton-in-Teesdale standing out in foreground brightness as the overnight mist and fog lifts. Holwick just about visible across the valley in the distance.
the two arch bridge over the small river wauchope, or as known by some as the wauchope water. which joins the river esk, (border esk, a few yards downstream. this is the lowest this river has been for years due to the drought conditions, in the big flood of nov 2009, you could not see any space through the arches due to the power and hight of the river. the bridge connects caroline st, and the town to the church of scotland at the buccleuch park, meikleholm hill, complete with forestry extractions taking place on it can be seen in the background, with timpen, (mid hill, behind it. langholm, dumfriesshire, scotland. view large.
looking over tarras moor, which is steeped in legend and history of the border reivers, towards the tarras valley and tinnis hill. this moor used to be a great red grouse moor with bags of many thousands shot over the years, and is also famous for it's breeding hen harriers. the langholm moor project is being carried out at the moment, to bring red grouse numbers back up. increase the quantity and quality of the heather, keep vermin down. and increase the number of raptors, and other moorland birds ,this is also perfect adder, merlin, skylark, meadow pipit, short eared owl, and curlew, habitat. langholm, dumfries and galloway, scotland. view large

Looking north from Van Farm, Thorpe, Lower Teesdale as a brief break in the clouds creates a patch of watery sunshine on the hillside in the distance. The bright orange winter bark on the willow tree in the foreground adds some colour to the scene.
hellmoor loch, a wild and lonely place, in the borthwick valley, hawick, scottish borders, scotland. day and season tickets are available for hellmoor loch, through hawick ,angling club. this loch really is in the middle of nowhere, blissfull solitude, with just the sounds of nature for company. a large clear fell of the sitka spruce has taken place, opening the loch up.
