Little rhino ive made to show case extrem weathering.

First of the five member of the Vanguard squad im doing for fun!

Here we have the latest project Ive worked on here at Ichiban Painting Studio!

Yes it is a Carnifex and man it was a nice project to Paint. Really cool to paint those little bugs. This model features a Imperial fist mate that was unfortunately unlucky and messed with the wrong Tyranid!

Hope you like it

cheers

This model is very hard to do justice photo wise. I really tried my best but it still looks 10000 x better in real life

finally finished! So here we have a Voltron themed dreadkingh. This model was quite modified. First the legs and knees were repositioned to make them look more dynamic and give the impression he was jumping or about to jump, then i have to refit the arms and arms boosters to reflect the legs and their position. A refitted banner was made to give a robe like look and a green stuff scroll was sculpted to to the same in the front. With this paint job i really wanted to go with a really battle worn look. Lastly we have the base that was all custom sculpted using Modeling clay then green stuff.

So, this is my project of the last months, after I started painting and playing w40k back in november last year.

After building my first veterans and terminator squads, I thought about converting something and to learn the handling with green stuff (I love to have some unique heroes in my army).

After hours of choosing parts and rearranging the pose and changing details, I was happy with the result, modeled and casted the tabard and all purity seals completely out of greenstuff.

Usualy the chaplains wear black armour, but to fit him to my existing terminators i've painted him graveyard earth and applied some layers of badab black wash, to make him outstanding with a little bit darker armour then the squad.

The base is build from some sprue left overs, skulls and the stone is actually bark mulch painted chaos black and dry brushed over with codex grey and skull white.

more photos of him, maybe with the squad, will come when my camera is repaired.

tips and tricks to improve my painting skills are allways welcome, I'm still beginner in these things.

Group Photo of my Grotesques.

Conversions using rat ogre bodies, vampire count ghoul heads, tyranid warrior scything talons, random sprue cut offs, a grot from the thieving grot pack and a LOT of greenstuff.

There are some work in progress photos of these in the photostream

This model is very hard to do justice photo wise. I really tried my best but it still looks 10000 x better in real life

The core body was a Dark Eldar Archon Finecast figure with some details shaved off or modified. The shoulder pads, fur pelt, knee pads and hair were sculpted from greenstuff as well as the Obsidian Orb which replaced the flaming pyramid in the right hand of the Finecast figure. The head is a High Elf Dragon Prince Helmet with the front detail shaved and sculpted to match a Dark Eldar Aesthetic and the back banner is from a Dark Elf Corsair banner. Several small gemstones were shaved off assorted High Elf bits and added all over Vect, including on the gloves, front helmet and shoulder pads.

The staff arm started off as a Dark Eldar pike arm rom the Raider crew, but the glove was sculpted to match the Archon glove on the right hand. The staff itself is comprised bits of several High Elf Mage staff pieces as well as some Dark Eldar vehicle blades.

The base is mostly sculpted from greenstuff with the exception of the face itself which is from a Scibor basing kit and the side of the helmet fin which was a rudder from a Dark Eldar Raider.

Here's my Baron Sathonyx Conversion, it is made using a helion's skyboard, legs, front torso, arms and head, with a dark elf corsair cloak back torso, and some hair from a slaanesh daemonette.

There is also a considerable amount of greenstuffing, the cloak has been made larger, the spikes on the engine half of the board have been extended.

The hair obviously needed greenstuffing to make it blend in to the head, the shoulder pad was one of the ones that comes with the hellion kit, it was then built up with greenstuff and a second one was cut down and placed on top, with both being extended to more of a point with greenstuff/milliput.

A double collar was also greenstuffed aswell.

This was the 3rd version of him, first because the paint job was terrible so i stripped it, rebuilding some of it when i went to paint it again, the 2nd which was slightly better built, got ruined by 'ard coat, making it the 3rd (and last) model i used 'ard coat on. I stripped it again, and came up with some more ideas for modifications to it to make it what it is now, it is still yet to receive a paint job, and he is currently only held onto the board with blutak.

The front brakes of the VW Lupo needed a refresh as the braking performance was low and the discs were on the minimum thickness (16mm).

I had cheap discs + EBC Greenstuff which was performed ok, but I always felt that it could do better.

And now it does!

Replaced it with:

- ATE Powerdiscs

- ATE Brake pads

- New sliding pins + boots

-Brake fluid refresh (front only)

Not only is the Blue and Gold Macaw one of the most beautiful, but has one of the best all around personalities of the large macaws. They are affectionate, inquisitive, and intelligent. They make them a great companion not only for a single person but when well socialized are friendly with everyone, even other birds.

Though sweet tempered, this is a lively bird that loves to play and interact. Blue and Gold Macaw's are eager learners. They can be taught a variety of tricks and are one of the most talented macaws when it come to talking. A Bue & Gold can learn about 15 to 20 words or phrases. But like all macaws it has a loud call, and it may be quite vocal at times.

The Blue and Gold Macaw, sometimes called the Blue and Yellow Macaw, is one of the most readily available of the large macaws. They are also one of the least expensive. But like all macaws, they do require good socialization and consistent training to make good pets.

Scientific Name:

Blue and Gold Macaw - Ara ararauna

Distribution:

The Blue and Gold Macaw's natural habitat runs from eastern Panama in Central America south across northern South America, extending to Bolivia, Brazil and Paraguay.

Description:

Blue and Gold Macaws are among the most strikingly beautiful of the Macaw Family. They are a full size Macaw and can learn to talk with a general vocabulary of about 15 or more words or expressions. Although some Macaws are one-person type birds, the Blue and Gold is right at home in a family type situation also.

Size - Weight:

A full sized macaw, they can get over 2 lbs. Lengths up to 86 cm (34 inches).

Care and feeding:

A roomy cage is required unless the bird is to be let out for extended periods. Many birds can spend most of their time on a play pen or parrot perch. They eat a variety of seeds, nuts, fruits, and commercial pellets, as well as the same nutritional foods humans eat.

Social Behaviors:

The Blue and Gold Macaw is known to be a good family type bird. They are a very gentle bird that will get along with more than one person. But they are a typical macaw and can be cranky at times and may prefer only one person or only one gender. To have a well rounded bird that enjoys more than one person, make sure it is well socialized with lots of folks.Breeding/Reproduction:

The usual clutch consists of two or three eggs which incubate for about 28 days. The babies will fledge after about 3 months in the nest. Feed the parents plenty of greenstuffs, corn-on-the-cob, carrots, and fruit laced with food supplement while they are rearing the youngsters.

Sexual differences:

No visible differences.

Potential Problems:

Can be noisy (as can all macaws).

My goblin/gnoblar warband.

The goblins are mainly older GW night goblins with some conversions.

I sculpted the squigs out of greenstuff WIP here - www.flickr.com/photos/torq42/albums/72157644511808369

28mm scale (roughly 1:56)

I paint the miniatures and build the terrain. It is mostly scratch-built except for the trees which are bought but usually improved or converted to some extent..

I was going to create a scenic base if I went and made the other 4 models. What you see here is a fraction of a curb on Armageddon. It looks weird by itself but the plan was to make it a mound of crashed ork junk, and all the marines sliding and jumping around it all. Decapitated Steel Legionnaire made from a skull and greenstuff to make ears, hair, nose, tongue, spine, goggles and face mask. If you look closely you can see the insects around the drain.

This is a wild bunch of Ogre Maneater Samurai to be used as playing pieces for Warhammer Fantasy Battle.

They have been reposed and clad in Samurai armour and gear.

Whirlwind for the big ultramarine tank commission I'm working on.

Landraider redeemer

i wanted to make a land raider look like a WW1 tank. so i cobbled up a leman russ, a rhino, and a chimera. i thn overall it was a success but i hated that i tried to cover up some of my mistkes with greenstuff. once i paint it, i wont much care, but i am extremely slow when it comes to painting any of my miniatures.

New project! Star Trek Orks! "Ork Trek"
