Here we have the latest project Ive worked on here at Ichiban Painting Studio!
Yes it is a Carnifex and man it was a nice project to Paint. Really cool to paint those little bugs. This model features a Imperial fist mate that was unfortunately unlucky and messed with the wrong Tyranid!

God I hate Greenstuff. It says it has a "90 minute moulding time" but it feels like 20 minutes, and when I check my timer, it has been only 20 minutes.
I'm basing this character off of Ronan from Dawngate, a MOBA that has been prematurely shut down by EA in beta. You shall be missed.

Slightly converted cultist leader. Cadian head with greenstuff for additional hair. Collar and sword both reduced in size and shotgun halved into a laspistol/ needlepistol via a cadian radio antenna.
still have little touch ups to do but its mostly done. since i ont have time to shoot pictures before it ships out i had to do them today.
Just came home from the local (organized by the kindergarden) christmas-fair.
Bought 2 x quince marmalades, a little bag of homemade cookies and a shopping bag.
Spending my money locally :-)
And then the neighbour put a lot of greenstuff out to be dumped on the community compost. So I saved some. Yiiipee!

So this mini is from Tor gaming. A new up and coming Wargaming company. The mini is really superbly done and as no default was so ever. Its only down side i would say is that the joints arent that big and make it a bit fragile and un pinable.
It was a really cool mini to paint. Unfortunatly I tried really hard to capture the mini as best as i could with the camera but couldnt really do that. i guess only the owner will truely see it lol

Ulex (gorse, furze or whin) is a genus of flowering plants in the family Fabaceae. The genus comprises about 20 species of thorny evergreen shrubs in the subfamily Faboideae of the pea family Fabaceae. The species are native to parts of western Europe and northwest Africa, with the majority of species in Iberia.
Gorse is closely related to the brooms, and like them, has green stems and very small leaves and is adapted to dry growing conditions. However it differs in its extreme thorniness, the shoots being modified into branched thorns 1–4 centimetres (0.39–1.6 in) long, which almost wholly replace the leaves as the plant's functioning photosynthetic organs. The leaves of young plants are trifoliate, but in mature plants they are reduced to scales or small spines. All the species have yellow flowers, generally showy, some with a very long flowering season.
The most widely familiar species is common gorse (Ulex europaeus), the only species native to much of western Europe, where it grows in sunny sites, usually on dry, sandy soils. It is also the largest species, reaching 2–3 metres (7–10 ft) in height; this compares with typically 20–40 centimetres (7.9–16 in) for Western Gorse (Ulex gallii). This latter species is characteristic of highly exposed Atlantic coastal heathland and montane habitats. In the eastern part of Great Britain, dwarf furze (Ulex minor) replaces western gorse. Ulex minor grows only about 30 centimetres (12 in) tall, a habit characteristic of sandy lowland heathland.
Common gorse flowers a little in late autumn and through the winter, coming into flower most strongly in spring. Western Gorse and Dwarf Furze flower in late summer (August-September in Ireland and Great Britain|Britain). Between the different species, some gorse is almost always in flower, hence the old country phrase: "When gorse is out of blossom, kissing's out of fashion". Gorse flowers have a distinctive coconut scent, experienced very strongly by some individuals, but weakly by others.
Gorse flowers are edible and can be used in salads, tea and to make a non-grape-based fruit wine.
As fodder, gorse is high in protein[citation needed] and may be used as feed for livestock, particularly in winter when other greenstuff is not available. Traditionally it was used as fodder for cattle, being made palatable either by "bruising" (crushing) with hand-held mallets, or grinding to a moss-like consistency with hand- or water-driven mills, or being finely chopped and mixed with straw chaff.[citation needed] Gorse is also eaten as forage by some livestock, such as feral ponies, which may eat little else in winter. Ponies may also eat the thinner stems of burnt gorse.
Gorse bushes are highly flammable, and in many areas bundles of gorse were used to fire traditional bread ovens.
Gorse wood has been used to make small objects; being non-toxic, it is especially suited for cutlery. In spite of its durability it is not used for construction because the plant is too small and the wood is unstable, being prone to warping. Gorse is useful for garden ornaments because it is resistant to weather and rot.

WIP. Construction and greenstuff complete. Need to add Plague Rider on back and Nurglings on base. Then paint, obviously.
I scratch-sculpted this figure over a chassis built from a Reaper Bones ogre and he's meant to be part of a group with the Otherworld one. The Bones material is easy to cut, and so it was easy to quarter and reassemble the limbs from the ogre to make the trunk for this giant. But despite saving me having to sculpt the hands and feet I wish I had just gone all out and sculpted the thing entirely. The ogre sculpt had really poor proportions (one leg considerably taller than the other and some other wonkiness) and the Bones material is overly soft (even compared with other PVC figures like D&D prepaints) and poorly suited to hold detail or take paint. Had I done it entirely in greenstuff maybe I could have shopped it around and got it cast. Maybe next time. Sculpted in 2013-2014 and painted in 2014.
This is a twilek headpiece I made some years ago, after the Jabba's palace set came out. It's made out of greenstuff and painted yellow. I prefer headpieces to molded heads, but apparently, TLC doesn't. :)
Here it is, this project was actually a chalange for me. Im still not quite happy with the faces and will actually try to work on them a bit more before shipping them.

This house and with the sky in the background had a lot of green stuff on it and I just had to set up my tripod and post process this as HDR. The picture was taken in Meiningen - Germany with my Canon EOS 40D

I wanted to change the original mechanical leg that is on the miniature to a wooden peg leg, so I carved the detail off it and added some metal studs out of greenstuff.

Overall excellent example of the new skin technique I'm using. In the future I might try harder to keep some of the darker tones, but overall I love the smooth skintones instead of hard highlighting. Note all his lovely pustules and bulging fat. I did a lot of work with greenstuff to really smooth out the join points across his shoulders and along his sides.
