A view over the Dee Marsh from Parkgate to the small industrial estate at Greenfield in Flintshire. I find the colours in the marsh at this time of year amazing.
The Welsh coast visible from Parkgate has fascinating variability from the heavy industry of Shotton to the wide open spaces of Point of Ayr. The flock of birds are Canada geese.

I only saw four alligators this morning, but I am sure there were more. The anhingas were very active along with gulls, turtles, and multiple species of dragonflies.

An unidentified "Peak" (but the last number looks like a 2) approaching Greenfield with an eastbound express, Liverpool to York, Newcastle or Scarborough. The second carriage in Inter City Livery can help with the date. This location is nowadays out of bounds but probably overgrown anyway.

Photographed May 30, 2016 during a visit to Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. This "Owl Night Lunch" wagon is believed to be the last remaining horse-drawn lunch wagon. Here is a short article about the wagon: Owl Night Lunch. The article gives a brief history and also has a photo of the other side of the wagon. The wagon was in dilapidated condition when Henry Ford acquired and refurbished it in 1927, leaving little of the original wagon intact. The most recent refurbishment was in 1986.

Leaving Greenfield Reservoir we headed up to the weir at the top of Greenfield Brook. Then the long scramble began as we headed up past the many waterfalls of Birchen Clough. Sadly no tripod with me today so no soft water, but that only gives me an excuse to go back!

Mmmm - love the glamour beaches of Jervis Bay. This is Greenfields Beach a couple of days ago. I've never been one of those people that can just lie on a beach towel all day so rocky headlands like this area where you'll always find me - having a poke around and seeing what's around the next corner. :)

Greenfield in the valley bottom with the distinctly sinister looking Saddleworth Moor rising beyond. Historically in the West Riding, despite their location west of the Pennines, the settlements known collectively as Saddleworth moved to the administrative care of Oldham MBC in 1974. The top of the spire of Christchurch, Friezland, can be seen above the top of the stone wall towards the left, along with the Trans-Pennine Manchester-Leeds railway line.
