Greenfield Village was dedicated by Henry Ford in 1929. Located in Dearborn, Michigan, it is the oldest outdoor heritage museum in the United States. Close to 100 historic structures and replica buildings are scattered around the 90 acre Village.
The closure of a well-known family greengrocers after decades of trading has been met with sadness.
Greenfields, on Deardengate in Haslingden, announced its closure after a handwritten sign appeared in the window.
A sign in the shop window read: “It is with great regret we must inform you that Greenfields greengrocers has closed. We would like to thank all our customers for their past support - from Robert and staff.”

This cabin was built in 1942 in Greenfield Village as a tribute to agricultural scientist George Washington Carver. Its design is based on Carver's memories of the cabin in Missouri where he was born.
My birthday outing to my "happy place", Greenfield Village, was two days after my birthday (since the Village is only open Thursday–Sunday now).
Post office built in 1913 with additions made around 1939.
