Description :
Please see the two photos I've posted on Flickr. They show rubbish fly-tipped on the pavements on both sides of Greenfield Road N15 near the junction with Seven Sisters Road. A resident told me both these street corners are regular dumpsites.
Plainly, as well as arranging for this stuff to be cleared, careful thought needs to be given to preventing or reducing dumping - whether by residents, landlords, or nearby traders.
Down in the valley of Greenfield the Oldham gritter which had the easier job of its half of the A635
The gritters from Oldham and Kirklees have a little turning circle/point where the 'border' is on the hill top
The Herschell-Spillman Carousel at Greenfield Village was built in 1913 in Tonawanda, New York. The original location is unknown; it ran in Spokane, Washington, from 1923 until the 1950s. It is the only carousel that includes a frog.
I'll never know what made you run away.
How can I keep searching when dark clouds hide the day.
I only know there's, nothing here for me.
Nothing in this wide world, left for me to see.
Still I'll keep on waiting, until you return.
I'll keep on waiting, until the day you learn.
You can't be happy, while your heart's on the roam,
You can't be happy until you bring it home.
Home to the green fields, and me once again.

c1910 photograph of the Arcade Building in Greenfield, Indiana. This was a wood frame building with a cast iron façade. It was a long narrow building that stood on the north side of Main Street, a short distance east of North Pennsylvania Street. A two-story brick house stood on the northeast corner of that intersection when the 1914 Sanborn™ fire insurance map set for Greenfield was published. The house was already there when a 1900 map set was published, and a portion of that house can be seen at the left edge of this photograph.
The 1906 Sanbornâ„¢ map set shows the Arcade Building, but the 1900 set shows a different set of wood frame buildings. The Arcade building shown in the 1906 map set consisted of several small office spaces lining a hallway under a glass roof. By 1914, the Greenfield Post Office occupied the entire west side of the building from front to back.
The sign above the main entrance advertised ADAMS EXPRESS COMPANY. The 1914 map set shows an express office about half way back on the east side of the arcade.
An awning and the windows advertised W. W. McCOLE TAILOR. That business occupied about half of the east side of the arcade. The FIDELITY INSURANCE office was in that building, but not on the arcade. The number 110 (or 116?) on the door doesn’t correspond with the addresses shown in the map sets. In both the 1906 and 1914 map sets, the address was 118.

One from last Sunday. I went for a walk and it was cold and very windy. Not ideal for Long Exposures :-)

I posted photos of this house in 2009 .As you can see it is still dereilct. The owner has had several 'run ins' with the local authority regarding its poor state and has been fined on a number of occasions.
Apparently, it was sold a couple of years ago but nothing seems to have done to the house apart from making it secure. It is a shame as it is in a great location and would make a lovely family home. It is in a conservation area. It remains to be seen if the council will eventually take action action the owner to return the property to habitation.
Update Nov 2011:
The current owners have gone through extensive planning to get planning approval for alterations. However, the build costs are apparently high and they have decided to put the property back on the market for £525k!
