Green foliage in spring light.

There are two photographers in our household, and one specializes in close-up photography, especially featuring the plant world. I'm not that photographers. (She would be Patricia Emerson Mitchell, my wife.) Recently I've tagged along a few times when she went to photograph at a couple of botanical gardens, and the exercise stretching by "seeing" skills in interesting ways.

In person you might not have found this plant to be all that interesting. The light was tricky (I used a diffuser to control it) and only a small section of the plant seemed to produce a decent composition. But I moved in close, used a macro lens, and found something that focuses on the gestures of the plant's shape, and on a small, very green world.

I made three dresses for three different sizes of dolls.

They're all made with the same beautiful synthetic muslin. This fabric is soft and has a beautiful effect with that kind of drape shape. Those three dresses, as you can see, started with the same idea and style, but i wanted to make some slight differences for them to be unique anyway.

Those three characters are not supposed to be related, but that was fun to make them sisters for the photoshoot ^^

...I was surprised to get this shot of the heron calling it's mate, after it flew away. I used the 2 second shutter timer on my camera.

Summer butterflies. Many thanks to people who view and comment on my pictures.

Seen yesterday evening in a flower meadow near my home. I think, taking pictures of flowers commits to know the name of the flower. Well, I'm not sure... Purple Lythrum (Lythrum salicaria)?

This young GW came out of nowhere so grabbed a handful of shots - very lucky to have caught these, shame it was so overcast hence the white background but I'm pretty pleased with these as they are often hard to capture while in flight.

The Xerion is back, and it actually looks more like its real counterpart!

(wikipedia)
