We enjoyed beautiful summer type weather on a recent camping trip where the trees were mostly still green.

I've been trying to keep an eye on some of the baby shieldbugs I found in the garden.

I found this adult on a fuchsia plant.

The green-throated carib is a large hummingbird, 10.5 to 12 cm (4.1 to 4.7 in) long. Both sexes have a bright green back, though the female's is duller, and a bright green gorget. The male's gorget has a blue border that is usually not apparent. Males and females have a black belly, a green vent area, and a dark blue tail that appears black in poor light. The underparts of subspecies E. h. chlorolaemus are somewhat darker than those of the nominate. Males have a medium length slightly decurved bill; the female's is longer and more strongly curved.[10]

The calls include a sharp chup! or chuwp!. During territorial disputes it sometimes makes rattles and whirs with its wings.[10]

Now spring has clad the grove in green,

And strew'd the lea wi' flowers;

The furrow'd, waving corn is seen

Rejoice in fostering showers:

While ilka thing in nature join

Their sorrows to forego,

O why thus all alone are mine

The weary steps of woe?

Green Spring in Deltona, Florida is located just near the north shore of Lake Monroe on the St. Johns River. The highlight of the park is the wonderful and mysterious Green Spring, but visitors should not miss the trail system which gives a prime view into the palm hammocks and woods which dominate the floodplains and springs of Central Florida.

Green Springs Park is near the historic area of Enterprise, which was once an important rail depot that helped to serve Florida's developing east coast as well as a steamboat port along the St. Johns, a water highway leading into Central Florida whose navigable areas end on Lake Monroe. The park is joined to nearby Gemini Springs Park by a multi-use trail called the Spring-to-Spring Trail.

Roll another one,

Just like the other one.

You been holding onto it,

The African Green Pigeon is a small to medium-sized bird that measures around 23-28 cm in length.

It has a distinctive green plumage with a yellowish-green head and neck, and a bright red bill.

The wings and tail are dark brown or black, and the eyes are surrounded by a bright red eye-ring.

The male and female have similar plumage, but the male has a slightly larger bill.

They are found in forests and woodlands across sub-Saharan Africa, and feed on fruits and seeds.

They are known for their soft cooing calls and are often seen in small flocks.

I visited to take red maple photo last weekend, but the leaves were still green T_T

Many of the old fences in Portsmouth display the Portsmouth (Corporation) logo. I loved the combination of yellow, green and brown colours in this shot. HFF!

Saw my first Green Hairstreak yesterday and here it is, perched aloft some freshy young Hawthorn leaves. Both butterfly and plant pristine in their youthfulness!

Like the truer sense of scale in this image, for me its a change from getting close in and wanting maximum details.

Also, the bee was a bonus - all carefully planned I can assure you! :)

At the north end of Prince Edward Islands is the house that inspired the book series. It was actually the home of Lucy Maud Montgomery's cousin whom she spent a lot of time with as a child.

Last Sunday, I had the greatest pleasure to see two beautiful green woodpeckers searching for food on the grass.

When I came back with the camera, only one of them was still here. Thus I could take a picture !

This woodpecker is a female, recognizable by her black malar. (Thanks, Jon !)

The male has a red mark on the black malar.

I can't take the credit for finding this Green Woodpecker's nest, a friend Bondy Taylor did the hard work, I just rocked up and took some pics !! Well done Ray :o)

The canopy had greened up a lot by August, making it quite dark, so this is pretty high ISO.

The green basilisk lizard is also called a plumed or double-crested basilisk; but its amazing ability to run on water gives this species its most recognizable moniker: the Jesus Christ lizard. They grow to a length of two feet. (animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/reptiles/green-bas...)
