Made for the Felting Forum's monthly challenge. This month it's 'Monochrome'.
I used dyed black, artificially white and natural grey merino, black and white bamboo tops, ramie and cotton noil.
I wanted it to look like rock
I kind of threw this scene together to see how some new furniture pieces I made would look. I am working on making a modern/urban/masculine space so I need a neutral couch. It is foam core wrapped in gray fabric with silver pushpin feet. Not so thrilled with the craftsmanship on that one, but it works okay. I was thinking of ordering some mirrored cubes from dheminis.com but thought I might be able to make my own. The are 1 1/4" wooden cubes with mirrored cardboard (found at craft store) glued onto each face. I am pretty happy with how they turned out (and much better price!)
Along the same vein as my other multiple wear pieces, this necklace is made with keishe and round peacock pearls, labradorite and a large bostwana agate pendant.
The pendant piece (agate and circular frame), can be removed from the chain, allowing the chain to be worn by itself at its full 36" length, or doubled (with or without pendant) to its 18" length. The chain is also wearable, multi-wrapped as a bracelet, or strung through belt loops as a chic touch to any outfit.
Time to get rid of a few projects I'll never finish.
Driving back from Brickcon, I came up with this project: one-shot scenes of murderers, with accompanying limericks. The murderers would be the only pieces in color; everything else would be in grayscale.
But my interest in the project faded. I'd already thought of all the limericks, but building each small set just didn't seem appealing.
The above shot was as far as I made it, and illustrates this limerick:
When Stefan won the lead in a play,
He did so to Stanley's dismay.
Green with envy, poor Stan
Executed his plan
And buried the lead, shall we say.
Looking back on the limericks now, I'm a little glad I didn't finish the project, but there was one other I liked:
Out of college, that sweet Anne McGee
Killed the teacher who gave her a "C".
Clubbed eight times with a bust,
The old prof bit the dust,
Making murder Anne's second degree.
This is where my mind goes if I'm in a car with nothing to do.

Barn circa 1910 but this may be its last year; half of roof has been blown back onto itself and hand-hewn beams supporting floor are half-rotted on west side. This is view looking due west so most of destruction is hidden here. Sky was weird gray haze that bounced sunlight everywhere.
Taken as b&w and contrast bumped up a smidge more; contrast has never been my strong suit unfortunately, so I just revised this pic.
