on such a damp grey day, I wandered around the garden with the Edge 50... one of my least favorite lensbabies.... but I have to play fair!!!

3 pm. The weather's been like this off and on today. Gray, rainy and Blah. But it could be worse. We are just getting bands of rain off what is now Hurricane Hermine. Nothing really serious here. The brunt of the storm is north and west of us.

The White Cliffs of Dover were always on my list of sights to see, and of course when I finally did get there, nature provided the standard British weather of a gray day. I definitely want of go back some day to get better shots and do more hiking along those iconic cliffs...

Black Rose Aeonium

I was taking a photo of these blooms out in a planter along the dam when this extremely tiny bee arrived just as I clicked the shutter. Bee not in focus but like it anyway. Got better ones last year but the flowers and bees were closer and much better light.

Just a few photos from a very quick walk at the nearby park before more heavy rain and storms start arriving soon. High winds, flooding rains, etc. today and tonight and maybe tomorrow followed by a week of rain and storms chances every day. :( The wildlife refuge 100 miles to the north is closed due to flooding and the interstate highway that goes there is closed at one point due to flooding. Crazy weather. Hoping our basement doesn't flood.

Fall colours brighten a very dull day.

Thank you to all of the friends for your prayers and good wishes for my partner Willem. He will stay in the hospital for a few days and hopefully this will make him better as staying here and the antibiotics wasn't helping at all.

About the photo - I took this one an hour or so ago in the front yard and uploaded it right away. Will comment on your photos after I get up as I am in need of some much needed rest, haven't had much of it in more than a week. Wishing you a splendid Monday my friends and thank you all again - {{{HUGS}}}

Tenía unas ganas espantosas de hacer una foto así, con pájaros. Hoy he ido a poner gasolina y allí estaban, esperándome. Demasiado lejos, todo lo que me ha dado el objetivo. Tenía que atravesar campo para acercarme más y estaba cultivado. Son palomas torcales. De paso le he hecho una foto al gasolinero, que guapo ! jajaja, es broma. Han puesto gasolina Jordi e Inés mientras yo hacia las fotos. Si es que no hay nada como tener ayudantes ! y además, guapísimos los dos.

late february in wisconsin: melting snow, gray skies, 30-degree temps. not bad and not great. as i walked home yesterday, i thought: i’m tired of the gray; i should look through old photos and post something sunny. and just at that moment, i saw this leaf, lying in a puddle, in a street gutter. and i thought: joy, have more faith; there’s beauty all around us, on both gray and sun-filled days. there’s beauty in a street gutter, if i’m willing to see anew.

I set out to photograph the gray day. This one turned out sort of cheerful? I have more to post later. Some pretty dark. (I'm warning you in advance.) 😊

A quite afternoon.

Captura realizada desde el interior de la cabina del telesférico de Roosevelt (Roosevelt Island Tramway) en su trayecto desde su terminal en Manhattan hasta la isla que está en el centro del rio (East River)...Un corto recorrido pero totalmente aereo y espectacular... Y además, a ver quien se resiste hacer algunas fotos ante este espectáculo, incluso con los inconvenientes que siempre va al completo de pasajeros... y los reflejos en las ventanas....Esta imagen es una más de esta serie del puente hecha con esos obstáculos...En la parte derecha de la fotografía se puede notar sobre el cielo y los edificios esos inevitables reflejos y suciedad en los cristales de la cabina.
