I tried to get closer for this shot, but when the snow got over my knees I turned around. Very cold, but kind of peaceful out in the country.

Imagen capturada desde un pequeño parque en la ciudad de Hoboken (Estado de New Jersey) al otro lado del rio Hudson...El cielo sobre New York en ese momento estaba cubierto y el recorte de los edificios se difuminaba hacia el fondo....Lo solitario del lugar, la hora, la baja luminosidad y el miedo a lo desconocido, me hicieron ir con prisas para realizar esta y otras cuantas fotografÃas desde ese parque al anochecer.
La luz ambiente era suficiente como para hacer esta captura a pulso, solo tuve que subir un poco el Iso a 800, poner una velocidad de 1/50sg y abrir el diafragma a F/5.6 ...El resultado final conseguido después de la edición fue este Jpeg de 33.7 MB en una imagen de 8256 x 5504 pixels.

No ropes or anchors would likely have been required to secure these lovely ladies to the dock, during the early January cold snap, These boats appeared well secured, and frozen into place.

A walk on a gray day provided some inspiration to see in black and white and then play a little with some edits.

Imagen del Puente de Queensboro capturada desde la Isla de Roosevelt (En el centro del East River).
En la imagen se ve la orilla de Manhattan a la altura de la calle 59, desde donde parte esta impresionante estructura...A mi altura, estoy en la isla, y a la derecha de la foto (No visible en esta) el puente continua entre dos inmensos pilares, esto es otro tramo de 250 metros (El ancho de la isla) y 40 de altura sobre ella, para continuar con otro tablero gemelo a este de mi foto que salva el otro brazo del rio hasta la orilla de Long Island City en el distrito de Queens...Sin duda una enorme obra de ingenierÃa que desde 1909 está dando servicio a la ciudad de New York y que meterla entera en una fotografÃa serÃa cuestión de una panoramica, o de otro punto de vista diferente a este.
En la foto puede verse arriba, a la derecha y bajo el tablero, el Teleférico de Roosevelt, que atraviesa el rio paralelo al y a la altura del puente, uniendo la isla y la orilla de Manhattan que se ve.

Am Tag nach dem schweren Sturm hat sich die Ostsee noch nicht beruhigt.
The day after the severe storm, the Baltic Sea had not yet calmed down.
Esta fuente circular que preside desde centro la monumental plaza circular conocida como Plaza de España de Sevilla, es obra de Vicente Traver y Tomás y fue construida en 1929 , el mismo año en el que AnÃbal González también diseñó y construyó esta icónica la plaza sevillana para la Expo Iberoamericana de 1929, convirtiendose en una de las arquitecturas más famosas y bellas del mundo.

This circular fountain that presides over the monumental circular square known as Plaza de España in Seville from the center, is the work of Vicente Traver and Tomás and was built in 1929, the same year in which AnÃbal González also designed and built this iconic Sevillian square for the Ibero-American Expo of 1929, becoming one of the most famous and beautiful architectures in the world.

Der Schwanenstein ist ein Findling vor der Insel Rügen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Er liegt etwa 100 m östlich vom Hafen der Gemeinde Lohme am nördlichen Rand der Halbinsel Jasmund etwa 20 m vor dem Strand in der Ostsee.
The Schwanenstein is a boulder off the island of Rügen in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It is located about 100 m east of the harbor in the municipality of Lohme on the northern edge of the Jasmund peninsula about 20 m from the beach in the Baltic Sea.

la imagen de la ciudad emergiendo tras esa pequeña loma me dio la sensación que me llevó al tÃtulo...Asà lo imaginé yo :)

Two Japanese Navy ships -- the training vessel Asagiri and the destroyer Mineyuki -- have docked at the B Street Pier in downtown San Diego. Gray morning in San Diego today, so a B&W processing was in order. Ships were open for a tour also. pretty impressive being able to go on deck. Did a bit of a reprocessing as I thought the first one was a bit flat.
