This common butterfly is superficially similar to the rare White M Hairstreak, which was nearby at Western Regional Park, MD.
for wardrobe_remix:
gray sweater, gray belt, gray pleated skirt - all f21
gray boots - nine west
black baby fishnet tights - target (tuuurrrrget)
The Hairstreak Butterflies have tiny hairs near their tails that resemble antenna. These pseudo-antenna even move to some extent which enhances the deception. Combine these with the eye spots on the wings and predators get confused about which end to hit. Many butterflies survive such hits but have missing pieces of their tails. They seem none the worse for the wear and tear.

A small shimmering dark gray pearl, wrapped in the glow of the light. This is the next of my new suits: 'oily dark gray'. Its an amazingly shiny and smooth fabric, gives a fanstastic fit and a very good craftsmanship. The blue light fits well with it, emphasizes the shiny smoothness of the suit.
Hope you like!

After spending a lot of time looking for Wolfs in the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone and ,watching a den site with the enthusiast Wolf watchers , we unfortunately weren't lucky!. We did however visit the Grizzly and Wolf center in West Yellowstone which is where i saw this beautiful boy. It is a great place which has given homes to animals from the wild who for different reasons cannot go back. It was really educational and gave us the opportunity to see them.
Thank you for appreciating my photo.

The other kind of treefrog we have here in our corner of Cape Cod is the "Gray Tree Frog" Hyla versicolor. This is one of the babies. They start out green and eventually gradually turn gray over time. They will get to be about the size of a golf ball as an adult - and are all gray. They are vocal at night in late June and July, seemingly turning on and off their calls with the clock... on at 8:00 off at 11:00.

If you’re convinced you’ll never be able to learn bird calls, start with the Gray Catbird. Once you’ve heard its catty mew you won’t forget it. Follow the sound into thickets and vine tangles and you’ll be rewarded by a somber gray bird with a black cap and bright rusty feathers under the tail. Gray Catbirds are relatives of mockingbirds and thrashers, and they share that group’s vocal abilities, copying the sounds of other species and stringing them together to make their own song.
These guys have returned in numbers over the last week in Simcoe County. Though many people pass these guys over, I quite enjoy capturing them! Shot at Sunnidale Park in Barrie.

The Gray Catbird is generally solitary, and resides in brushy vegetation feeding on insects and other invertebrates and berries. This one was happily singing away on a bright spring day last week. Photo was taken at Mud Lake, Ottawa.
