Right beside Jerpoint Abbey was this very old graveyard with lovely Celtic crosses and this particular one was the largest of them. I always find graveyards, particularly old ones, places of deep peace where one is brought into a space of reflection and transcendental introspection.

that doesn't keep anyone out any more

A neglected graveyard and the back of Llandaff Cathedral

I went for a slightly desaturated look to convey the sense of cold and melancholy I feel as we bid farewell to the leaves and stunning colours of autumn and the amazing summer that preceded it.

These graves are very old and this big old tree seems to protect them .

I forget where this graveyard is located exactly, maybe near Portapique? Anyway, it was a beautiful and very interesting location. It looked like a forest grew over this graveyard in the last 100 or more years and was only recently cut, maybe by one of the members of the Durning family? The majority of the graves here are of the Durning family so I'll go with that...if anyone in the area knows please fill me in!

Second Falls at Graveyard Fields...I positioned myself down directly in front of the waterfall for this capture and here you can easily see why this waterfall is so popular, especially during the warmer summer months. Many people hike down to Second Falls to swim and frolic around in the pool at the base of the waterfall. That should be interesting to see! When I was here, I really enjoyed meeting several nice people and hope to return early Spring when the water flow is much higher.

A wider shot of 37425 passing Wardsend cemetery. According to the sign at the entrance the graveyard 'houses' around 30,000 graves most, from what I read dating around the 1920s. Bet they could tell some tales.

Anyway as far as is known this is the first train to visit the branch for about a month. Other than a test train which runs in the dead of the night, the only other traffic is a sporadic steel train, guessing the next trip will be post Christmas. Even then this is now down to STP and when DB tried sending a 66 up on a loaded train it lost over 4 hours on it's short trip. The DfT however is currently considering a Business Case to re-open the line to Stocksbridge, if not Deepcar. The Deepcar to Stocksbridge section is actually privately owned by Liberty Steels.

With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating, stay safe, and laugh often! ❤️❤️❤️

One of the Everglades' famous eastern lubber grasshoppers (Romalea microptera), also known as Florida lubbers, black diablos, the Devil's horse, graveyard grasshoppers, or giant locusts. These things are huge (up to 3 inches in size) and are omnipresent on the Anhinga Trail in Everglades National Park.

"In the midnight, hear me cryin' out her name.

In the midnight, hear me cryin' out her name.

I'm standin' on the railroad, waitin' for the Graveyard Train.

On the highway, thirty people turned to stone.

Oh, take me to the station, 'cause I'm number thirty-one."
