I couldn't resist buying this pattern and sewing my "first" dress. This is the easiest dress pattern ever. Three pieces; that's it. It took me about two hours to sew up this dress. Instant gratification.
I purchased this fabric at Vogue's for under $10.00, at of the bolt.
For a whole week artist and metalworker Helen Carnac used the Institute of Making as her studio and created thoughtful enamel pieces. Members joined Helen to explore and play with enamel – finding out how to use the Makespace enamel kiln, discovering the instant gratification of firing vitreous porcelain on copper, and considering the nature of mark making through the process of sgraffito.

Instant Gratification: My Journey into Polaroid in Three Acts
I'm so lucky to have this lovely lady living in my back yard! We had quite an exciting journey road tripping across California from the desert oasis of Palm Springs, to the beautiful beaches at Laguna, and the excitement of meeting our flickr friends at the LA Flickr Meetup!

The gratification comes in the doing, not in the results.- James Dean
My brother's artwork.
All paper from magazines, almost completely hand ripped
I entered a bunch of photos in the San Diego County / Del Mar Fair photo Contest in hopes of winning a cash prize. This was my winning photo. In this day of immediate gratification, this fair is more tuned to the old day where you have to wait a long time to know your results.
So this was the moment we found out the result that I had been working towards and focusing on for months.
I wish we got some better quality shots, but there were so many people around and it was such a big high pressure moment. So this was not a time to get the best quality photo.
They have lots of signs around saying "Dont' take any pictures here, no cameras of any kind" So this is the best shot I could get under the circumstances. In truth, later I saw many of the photographers taking pix of them self in front of their photo. This was a special reception for all the photographers in the show, it is NOT the public who the 'no camera's of any kind' signs are tarteted at.
"The human mind is not a computer with truth as its base. It is merely a collection of ganglia moved by electrical impulses. Truth is not its basis, but rather ego gratification. Truth to the human mind is a shifting thing, a sail billowing on the wind
of fear and hope and desire. It has no reality, but rather creates it from moment to moment with that same creative intelligence that you value so highly in us...
"The human mind is painfully mortal. That particular truth in itself is more than most humans can tolerate. We are frail creatures, seeking permanence in an impermanent world. We lie to those around us. We lie to ourselves. We lie in the face of all logic and all reason. We lie because, quite often, the truth would destroy us. We lie without even knowing it."

Instant Gratification show @ the White Walls Gallery, San Francisco. 12 hours of live painting.
I loved the detail on the pit, and the subject matter seems touching...kind of delicate. But the bird is weak, in my opinion.

I have four film cameras, not one of them has been used for years. It's a bit sad really. What killed it for me was the processing. It just cost too much, plus with digital you get instant gratification. I hope to soon get a digital rebel, I've been a couple of years without my own SLR. Technically I don't own any sort of digital camera. The Olympus I use daily belongs to my husband, and the Rebel I use sometimes is my mother's.
Most of this equipment here are hand-me downs, One of the Rebels came new as a gift from my parents & I bought the Pentax, used, for myself. The other Rebel came from my sister when she went digital, and the Minolta was the camera my mother used when I was a kid. My father-in-law handed down a bunch of the other stuff, but no longer had the camera body he bought it for. The one camera that I wonder where it is, is my grandfather's camera. I don't even remember what kind it was, but it was really a neat old camera. I think my mom used to have it, I remember admiring it when I was small. I wonder if she still does.
Style comfort and generous proportions add up to a beautiful sofa. Indigo’s plush comfort provides instant gratification while its classy style and solid construction are in it for the long haul. Signature cone shaped feet and button nose set Indigo apart from the rest. An inspired choice for use in waiting rooms lobbies or reception areas.
