This was another of the squares from my Drawing final. This technique is called, if memory serves, reduction. Reduction is not easy to do using graphite...Charcoal is the prefered medium for reductionary drawing, but our final project was supposed to be strictly graphite (although many of my companheiros/classmates ignored this "request"). This is a wooden cat and is the same wooden cat used in the drawing of the "forwar-looking cat." My use of "the darkest darks and the lightest lights" was as good as it could be in this drawing.

A quick rendition and journal entry of my Dad for his birthday. I miss him and promised I would never quit drawing for him, so I have to keep it!
It's decision time again! I'm leaning towards the purple (I'm sure you're shocked) but also considering a black or brown case for my new Kindle DX Graphite, to go with my current DecalGirl Infinity skin. (The current felt case is cheap, temporary, and not protective enough)
Here is a photo of my view out the window on this rainy day. I've got places to go and things to do but the car at the garage... again.
I took the photograph after doing the previous drawing. It's a challenge simplifying -- there's so much out there!
thought I'd focus on the gate and fence. I'll probably add a color wash later.... might as well make it wet, everything else is.
