Who knew this week was going to be HARDER than graphite week??? The only thing in abundance around here this week are clouds. So today was a strainer, a flashlight, my patient husband and a sweaty egg for an abundance of shadows.

A very detailed angel done with graphite pencil. Emotion played a big part in this piece.

This was a tough one. The remaining few crab apples appear to be glowing against today's graphite colored sky as we face rain, freezing rain, sleet and a touch of snow!

Here's another of my pencil drawings. . .Like all artists I can always find something here or there to tweak after I'm "finished" with a piece. I did make some very slight tweaks to this piece, and that version is posted on my personal website at www.thephotoartloft.com. This is my portrait of the actor/director Clint Eastwood. . .I drew this one using only graphite pencils instead of colored pencil. . .This was done using pencils rated "HB" on the graphite scale, and drawn on pastel/charcoal paper. . .Regarding making slight adjustments to my work, I'm reminded of a saying I heard once in an art class. . ."It takes 2 people to make a great work of art. . .A great artist, and someone to tell the great artist when to STOP!"

The “line_up“ is a paperwork series I developed since 2010. The “liners” are made out of paper (Din A3/A4),

oil paint and graphite. The theme is the hermetical laws of polarity and movement. There is no ending and no beginning in any direction, just an endless movement. You have the possibility to arrange the papers like you want and that makes it an endless playground for my photo-work and the eyes of the viewers.

A couple of months ago a buddy of mine at work gave me his small Moleskine to draw in. I've been putting it off and I felt bad so to make sure I actually did it this past weekend I promised him that if I didn't sketch something in his book, I would pay him $20.

I hate owing people money.

Clubber Lang is one of my favorite movie villains. I'm planning on doing a series of paintings of him, so I thought this would be a cool starting point to do a study.
