These wine grapes were being harvested yesterday just after I took took the photo. Vineyards have become a very important part of the Willamette Valley economy.

I planted this grape vine in my back yard some years ago.

Not a pretty presentation but these grapes appear to have done well this year. As the sugar level increases the aroma does too. Driving by these was a treat to my nose.

Out visiting some local wineries. These are Marquette grapes, developed at the U of Minnesota for cold climates.

Despite high summer temperatures the Boka Bay area of Montenegro is surprisingly verdant. The mostly temperate winters and high rainfall means that all kinds of flora thrive here. Anyone with a terrace normally has a grape or kiwi vine growing over a pergola. More to provide shade than fruit.
