Building a Raspberry Pi. Hardest part was assembling the case with only 2 hands. For scale, note that's a half sheet of paper it's on. Added the GPIO breakout cable now so can attach to a breadboard later.
This is a prototype DCC decoder. It uses an opto-isolator to take the positive DCC signal from the track, and feed it as a 5V pulse in to the Input Capture off the Arduino Pro Mini. The pulse widths are measured. A second opto-isolator is driven by a GPIO to connect a 100 ohm resistor across the DCC load as an ACK. At the moment it does not drive anything!

This PCB is a voltage converter. I'm using an Arduino Nano to tell the ATX power supply when to switch on and off. This PCB converts the 5V logic voltage of the Arduino to the 3.3V of the Rasberry Pi's GPIO pins. This is so the Rasberry Pi can tell the Arduino when its shutting down, and so the Arduino can tell the Raspberry Pi to shut down when the power supply button is pressed.
