Some more discdog fun!

Strobist info: two bare strobes, one on left, one on the right, pretty symmetrical. Both set to 1/8, triggered optically.

Used my Ricoh GR instead of the reflex, since the Ricoh syncs at insane speed compared to the 1/250 limit of the reflex. This is great for action shots!

Got to keep listening to that song

Got around to taking some pictures of an older car of mine (about 2 months old), the Volvexa Alleycat.

Based on the BMW Isetta, the Volvexa Alleycat is a late 1950s microcar. Powered by a 2-cylinder engine, it's not very powerful, but has a strong cult following for its charming looks and unique three-wheeled configuration.

This is a little bug enjoying the flavors of the inside of a cut back Hibiscus plant. Hopefully it will come back and provide as many beautiful blooms this year as it did before the cold. Actually, it has green sprouts starting already so I know it's not seriously damaged.

...err...better adjust the date stamp on my camera. This was taken yesterday.

Got here early, to avoid the crowd

Purchased a "photography ticket"

Went to the mezzanine on 1st foor

There was a big statue there, right in the midde of the banister overlooking the museum's hall

The statue made impossible to take a good panorama without evident perspective errors

Therefore:

I took 7 portrait HDR shots from left to center from the statue left side

Then

Moved to the statue right side and took 7 more HDR portrait shots, right to center.

My idea was to merge the 2 halves by stitching over the middle part (of final image) where the perspective errors are minimum

At home:

- processed the 14 HDR images (from 42 shots - with PhotomatixPro)

- generated the 2 halves of final panorama with Photoshop by merging the 7 HDR images each

- merged the 2 panos to create a final one.

The result is here:

Enjoy!

Got a bit lazy today, a beer or two watching television and decided to get a shot of the Red Wattle-bird in the garden through the lounge window. Even used Liz's camera as it had the 75-300 on it, just put my card in it.

Yay for Justice and their sales. Got Cedar (can't wait to photograph her) and the new EAH book for half off. Loves it. And I don't know about ya'll but it's always exciting to get some wood in the afternoon. Okay? #basically

I got a new re-ment set! Nostalgic Appliances #4. Now we got tunes.

Got to be able to read the sky…storm clouds rolling in😉 hope it washes the massive amount of pollen away!

Finished getting my trailer loaded, and stopped at a truckstop nearby to get ice and something to eat. On the way in I saw a tree in fall colors and in direct sunlight, but figured if I got under and inside the canopy of leaves, it might be interesting. So, I got my ice, walked a block and took 19 photos, then got some jambalaya at Popeyes. Back to the truck to download and see what I had. I'm looking forward to your opinions my friends.

Have a safe & fun long weekend.

"If there were ever a time to dare,

to make a difference,

to embark on something worth doing,

IT IS NOW...

Not for any grand cause, necessarily,

but for something that tugs at your heart,

something that's your aspiration,

something that's your dream.

You owe it to yourself to make

your days here count.

Have fun.

Dig deep.

Stretch.

Dream big."

Got really inspired to do this idea I had and I'm super proud of how it came out. That doesnt mean that I'm not open to critiques tho, so, if you guys have any, feel free to let me know!

I've been wanting to tell more of a story with my art and I wanted to do something with Samus that I've never seen anyone do before, so I had her in her zero suit, but still wearing the arm of her suit (which you can infer was damaged in battle) to shoot the remaining aliens she's trying to kill/escape from. That's pretty much all there is to it, hope you guys enjoy! Stay frosty, bros and broditas!

Got myself new dirndls.

Been on the lookout for one but second hand they usually list for around $60. Found 3 listed as vintage dresses for like $10 each so figured I'd take a chance.

I loooove embroidered details, especially florals, so I couldn't be happier.

They didn't come with matching aprons, so I may buy some material and make some myself as a project.

♥️♥️♥️

After slowing for traffic ahead, NS ES44DC #7650 and a smoking BNSF partner accelerate through Brunswick, MO.

Got a new 1.4x Teleconverter for my 100-400 lens, mostly for wildlife. My first shot was at home of the moon. This is therefore taken at 560 mm, handheld and convertered to monochrome in lightroom. Great detail along the day-night terminator, as expected.

An adult male American Oystercatcher using his beak to widen the already cracked clam shell brought out by a smaller gull who could not raise it high enough in the air with flight and drop it to successfully crack it open. No worries, the Oystercatcher had no issues getting inside with his long beak.

I saw him sitting on the railing further along. Perhaps... It looked as if I might be able to line up the shot to include snow covered Mt. Fuji in the background.

But this day I was shooting film. 1600 Fuji Natura so I could keep the shutter speed high to catch the Kingfisher in flight. The camera was a Mamiya DSX1000 and the lens a mamiya/sekor 400mm 6.4.

In order to line up Mt. Fuji I had to move in close to the bird, but too close and it would fly away. I had one shot. But the bird decided I was too close and in an instant was gone.

Got to love a good seascape now and again. A cracking morning always helps of course
