Jeff Huber was a gracious stand in for Alan Eustace. Alan wanted to be there, but was in Washington, DC for "discussions" and so Jeff welcomed us. Alan also left a really funny video to welcome us as well.

This is a friends NP Z-8 which started out as a Key Models import from Korea, made by Samhongsa. He purchased the remains of this model, the boiler and tender, but it was missing the complete running gear. He asked me to piece it back together, and he located a mechanism from an older D&RGW L-105 Max Gray. He sent me the pieces and these pictures are what I was able to make out of them. It's a bit of a Frankenstein, but, if it had a professional paint job, it could pass for the NP model even though there are some slight differences in some of the running gear details. I thought it came out pretty good, considering the starting point.
This is not good. This is not good at all. If you're trying to reach me and I haven't responded yet, this might be why.

If you decide to google Google's explanation of / justification for their new logo, be prepared to waste half an hour of your valuable time, because they go on and on and ON about it and how it's going to transform your life. Talk about a society obsessed with meaningless trivia! Wasn't it Shakespeare who wrote something called 'much ado about nothing'?------'cuz that's what it is. In all honesty, if they hadn't deliberately drawn my attention to the new logo, I wouldn't even have noticed it. Now, however, as I contemplate the two of them together, I can see that the new one actually is a bit more infantile------most appropriate in our continually-dumbing-down 21st century world. I feel sorry for anyone to whom such minutiae actually matter. As long as it's not obscene, I could not possibly care less what their blinking logo looks like------they could even adopt my suggestion (see bottom item) free of charge and without crediting me. When I click that button, the only thing I want is information, quick and accurate. How they get it to me is completely irrelevant. So there, that's my rant for the day. What do YOU think?
I just kinda got this idea out of no where. yeah... you can tell it's fake but i didn't put in too much effort cuz i felt lazy. :|
anyway, i hope you like it. :)
