Train H20 sits patiently in the siding at Minnesota City, MN to let two different eastbound passenger trains by. First up was the Art Train heading for Chicago, with a 4 hour late #8 nipping right on its heels. After 8 cleared the block at Goodview, H20 received lights east to proceed down river.

Fresh from the shops at Progress Rail in Mayfield, Kentucky is CP 7050, one of an order of 60 units (road numbers 7000-7059) that are being rebuilt and designated as SD70ACU. The 7050 was originally built for the CP as SD9043MAC number 9145 in April, 1999.

Despite a stubborn streak of cool, gloomy weather, things are beginning to green up as spring arrives. The H20 wayfreight hangs out as the conductor walks a long cut of cars left in Carlson pass while preparing to make a pickup.

So this is what Sir Paul McCartney meant back in the 1960's when he wrote the iconic Beatles song; "The Fool On The Hill". Two young couples enjoy each other, semi-privacy, love of nature and a Saturday night sunset. A fool in love ~ sunset sand ~ Florida Everglades U.S.A.

[FYI: The ironic part is that we don't have any "hills" or "mountains" in South Florida. It is flat! This is about as large a hill as you will find]

NS 6D4 hustles across Kate's Creek, one of Several Impressive Trestles on the Virginian East of Roanoke.
One of those shots that are a rare gift of circumstance and timing: with 470's head end briefly paused as the conductor made a pickup at Carlson pass, a passing cloud cleared and created this rainbow from the storm during the last three minutes before sunset.
