The daily westbound manifest from Winona, MN to Belle Fourche, SD for DME is just leaving the joint CNW/DME yard in Winona. Four SD9/SD10's are the power for this, with the leader being ex MILW "bandit". 545,6615,6605,553. This train is crossing from the eastward track from Soo Line's River sub to DME's own track (ex CNW ALCo line).

Columbia coal load, Soo Line #880, with CNW8511,CNW7015, runs along Soo Line's old MILW River Sub. Eastward main removed not all that long ago and Westward main still has bolted rail. This C40-8 still in as delivered Zito yellow. They didn't stay long in this paint, as GE repainted them due to fading almost immediately.

The Fiskavaig coastal circuit is the simplest of the Minginish coast walks, this is still a very rough walk across boggy moorland terrain, with impressive cliff scenery. From this Fiskavaig Bay a footpath heads off south here. After about a kilometre, these steep slopes become the coastal cliffs. There are good views down to Talisker Bay and the sea stacks beyond. The walk continues along the edge of the cliff, and the going becomes easier with some firm, cropped grass.

De Fiskavaig kust wandeling is een niet al te steile wandeling, maar kan nog zwaar zijn voornamelijk door het zware natte moerassig heidelandschap langs de indrukwekkend hoge kustlijn. Van deze Fiskavaig baai loopt een een voetpad ten zuiden van hier. Na een kilometer lopen deze steile hellingen over in de de hoge kustlijn. Er zijn goede uitzichten over de Talisker Baai en eilandjes er achter. Uiteindelijk wordt het pad makkelijker begaanbaar door het lage gras en gaat verder langs de rand van de klip.

Chureito pagoda - this place is very good place to see mt.fuji clearly. You can come to this place by take train from kawakuchiko station to Shimoyoshida station and walk around 5 mins and walk up to pagoda 400 step of stairs.

Per Bill's request, here we see an all red H20 pulling up to CK as seen from the Pelzer St overpass near the border of Winona and Goodview. On the point today is an ex Milwaukee GP40. In a previous life, 4613 was the 2032 and decked out with a sweet Hiawatha nose logo. It very likely powered hot shot Sprint trains through here in the 80s. By 2017 though, the paint job and task is a bit less glamorous. However, time was running out for this former sprinter.

This would mark my last occasion of seeing a straight CP GP40, only a couple months after seeing my last Blue and Gold. And before you say "CP has GP40s 4007 and 4008"...I know...this was the last GP40 running that hadn't gone through a rebuild program. Considering CP hung onto a bunch of straight GP40s and with the -3 rebuilds getting numbered after the last DME GP40, we were hopeful more would come after 4007 and 4008. Alas, the project never materialized. Too bad, because a couple handfuls of these with beavers and PTC would have looked good.

There are lots of good paths around Hartshead village in West Yorkshire.Especially good this time of year with all the autumn colours to see.

The daily westbound freight with DME 1483,HL 6368,DME 6618,DME 6387. Even in 1992, this is quite the lash up. The DME 6387 was recently painted into what became the DME's standard paint scheme. The GP9's were rare to come by in this area and very rare to lead. You can see the River sub for Soo Line was still bolted rail, which was the westward track and the DME in on the old eastward track, when the MILW Rd was still double track.
