Pompano Beach Airpark / Pompano Beach Golf Course

Pompano Beach, Florida U.S.A. - October 19th, 2024

Pompano Beach Airpark is also the Home of the Goodyear Blimp!

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goodyear_Blimp

*[The city's name is derived from the Florida pompano

(Trachinotus carolinus), a fish found off the Atlantic coast]

There had been scattered settlers in the area since at least the

mid-1880s, but the first documented permanent residents of the Pompano area were George Butler and Frank Sheen and their families, who arrived in 1896 as railway employees. The first train arrived in the small Pompano settlement on February 22, 1896. It is said that Sheen gave the community its name after jotting down on his survey of the area the name of the fish he had for dinner. The coming of the railroad led to development farther west from the coast. In 1906, Pompano became the southernmost settlement in newly created Palm Beach County. That year, the tall Hillsboro Lighthouse was completed on the beach, and the rest is history!

I dont only build supercars and the likes, so here is a little 5 wide MOC that was quite a challenge to get done. Im really happy with how i did my brickbuild mudguard section and rear light area...

It is the 1st Golf Cabrio and a sought after vehicle in Europe. Mainly produced in red in the first production years, it became known as the "strawberry basket" in Germany. The B Pillars were fixed roll bars to meet the US safety criteria for Export. In open cabrio, it looked like the handle to the basket and was the first cabrio ever to include this safety feature.

1 Part has to be modified by substraction to get one area working, but considering the 0,002 cents the part costs, its well worth it.

Never been a purist anyway^^

I had a chance to go experience my dream golf adventure back some years ago. Here are some of the souvenirs that I brought back with me. For those that don't play golf, these are ball markers to use on the green to mark your ball. They are about the size of a dime.

In the 1970's the Golf was the life-saver for Volkswagen. Too long the company had relied on rear-engined Beetles and variations on that theme. The first generation was built from 1974 until 1983. This one has a 1.6 litre diesel engine.

An absolutely beautiful golf course located in suffolk.
