I dont only build supercars and the likes, so here is a little 5 wide MOC that was quite a challenge to get done. Im really happy with how i did my brickbuild mudguard section and rear light area...

It is the 1st Golf Cabrio and a sought after vehicle in Europe. Mainly produced in red in the first production years, it became known as the "strawberry basket" in Germany. The B Pillars were fixed roll bars to meet the US safety criteria for Export. In open cabrio, it looked like the handle to the basket and was the first cabrio ever to include this safety feature.

1 Part has to be modified by substraction to get one area working, but considering the 0,002 cents the part costs, its well worth it.

Never been a purist anyway^^

In the 1970's the Golf was the life-saver for Volkswagen. Too long the company had relied on rear-engined Beetles and variations on that theme. The first generation was built from 1974 until 1983. This one has a 1.6 litre diesel engine.

One of the earliest Golf II's i've ever seen!

There's always some compromise when you recreate an object in Lego, and this build is a fine example of that tenet. On it's own, it's a perfectly serviceable representation of a golf club, but it's very difficult to represent the subtle contours and concave slopes of modern clubs with Lego. I considered building this one 4X larger, but sadly, I just didn't have time.

No golf tees in the Christmas Crackers this year. I got a pen. I guess for scorekeeping, or use as an emergency tee?

Immediately after taking this photo a man walking past me asked 'gibt's da ein schönes Motiv?' ('something nice to photograph there?').

I replied that I thought so. He then launched into a long explanation about his love for old cars like this Golf II and that he only drives cars of this vintage or older.

I explained that the lens on my camera was of a similar vintage and we both agreed that 'they don't make them like that any more.'

He added that he was moving to Hungary in the coming weeks, since Stuttgart was too expensive and he wanted a simple life.

Lesson: take boring photos; meet interesting people.

The second generation of the Volkswagen Golf was built from 1983 until 1992. In that era it was one of the most sold cars in Europe. It has a 1.3 litre engine with 54 PS.

Golfing at it's best: Walking through the grass, listening to the singing birds and enjoying the beautiful nature and sun - what can be better in a summer evening?

Die schönste Art zu golfen: Durchs Gras spazieren, dem Vogelgesang lauschen und die wunderschöne Landschaft im Abendrot genießen - was kann an einem Sommerabend besser sein?
