Inle Lake, 22 km, famous for its one-legged rowers and floating villages + gardens.
Vegetables, fruits and flowers are grown on floating fields of marsh, soil and water hyacinths attached to the lake bottom with bamboo stakes.
The houses are built on stilts. 70,000 inhabitants.
Part of what I pass on the way to work.

You may be going on vacation or business trips.
Would you agree with me that the best part of a trip is the journey back home?
It feels so good when we are going back home.
I watched the planes landing on YVR airport last evening.
Have a great long weekend!
在旅程中,有什麼比回家更好?
An evening's photoshoot in the city with Longstrattonian. Tried the Lumix out at night properly for the first time (not overwhelmed with the results) I need to try night shots more often with it.
This is image 3 of 4 that I managed to get at the beach recently. The last one is to follow soon, the conclusion of what can be viewed as a mini series. No title, just 4 images that happen to sit well together.
El otro día volviendo de Valencia en el tren, cayendo agua a mares me sorprendio la serenidad de esta chica concentrada en la lectura de El juego del Angel de Carlos Ruiz Zafon....

Rundle Mall. I sat on a bench and watch the passing parade. The lady from the adjacent shop waiting patiently for the lift. Silver Efex Pro: Kodak 100 TMAX Pro and green filter
I was out walking the dogs on a very windy day. I brought along a filter to try some hand held IR. While I struggled a bit, I still found one shot out of many I liked.
The painted affect was added with Topaz Simplify. The leaves were blowing wildly anyway!

before a full-day of work starts, here's anther shot from Cemoro Lawang
this group of cowboys looked relaxed, ignoring the traffic after transporting the tourists to and from Mt Bromo, and before they stepped down the horseback and turned into (perhaps) a peasant
Similar to previous posting, this shot was taken from the car as I was leaving for the airport
Not ideal to shoot from a car on the move, but that was the rush to capture more and to capture whatever I can when a trip is coming to an end
from the archives I found on my phone... this was one of those days were the traffic was up... trying to get home from my son's house during crush hour... it's almost 10 years I've been making this trip twice a day... approximately 45 minutes or more... one way...
My first upload from the London Photo24 last Friday and Saturday (12:00pm to 12:00pm), and one of my favourite shots of the day.
This was taken while a number of us were taking shelter from a torrential downpour at the Gherkin. This couple were braving the weather, with just a fairly small umbrella, but looking quite photogenic while doing so!
Never make your home in a place. Make a home for yourself inside your own head. You'll find what you need to furnish it - memory, friends you can trust, love of learning, and other such things. That way it will go with you wherever you journey.

OK, so I was a little bored on a recent flight. I was stuck in one of those Canada Regional Jets--honestly, they are the smallest "jet" I've ever been on. The guy sitting next to me probably thought I was a bit weird, lol. Anyway, gotta have some knitting, some puzzles, my iPod (and noise cancellation headphones--very key), and maybe some work related reading.
The last usually gets put away, as my concentration on flights is pretty poor...and isn't helped by people talking in their outside voices and the f*#@ing idiot sitting behind me who kept kicking me. Look Mr. Sitting in 5D, I know these planes are uncomfortable, especially if you have long legs. But didn't you get the message when your foot connected with my ankle like 15 gazillion times? Sheesh.
This shot motivated me to make some progress on the hat. I thought it would look nicer if I got some of the green in it. Took a few songs to get to this point. :) And then I had to stop because we were on the descent.
After entertaining the crowds with his guitar, this street musician has finished for the day and makes his way back home.

Not much chance for photographs to day. This one taken on the way home tonight in Brum.
