Already at this time we begin to leave the summer behind and we welcome the fall. We remember the first days of summer of this year 2020, when the star hunters are at their best and the nights are impregnated with magic. We are in the Cornalvo Natural Park, at the beginning of the path that leads to Rugidero, I think this is the place that we have photographed the most times.

Of the few shots with the Milky Way this year, a panorama made from 7 vertical shots, of 15 seconds each, at f/2.0 and 2500 ISO. At this time I had a special illuminator, Alberto was in charge of lighting each exposure with a torch with warm light in a homogeneous way, so that it is not noticeable when forming the panorama; soon he'll take my camera away ...

First light at the Queenscliff Pier and Lifeboat shed. Even though this location is often featured in photos, Queenscliff has so many beautiful sites to explore. I really enjoyed the peace, tranquility and colours of that morning shoot, hope you have a great weekend people.

Sometimes persistence pays off.

Waiting for a sunset at Dog Rocks, Batesford, near Geelong, when I was rewarded with a wonderful display by Mother Nature.

This was one of the most intensive and longest enduring burning skies I have seen for a long time. Luckily it happened right in front of a very juicy foreground. Was waiting for years to get epic light on a fresh, fluffy snow coverage. The tree trunk comes from a very special old tree, I have photographed many times before. Grab a hot chocolate, lean back and enjoy the view!

Grasslands Milky Way 2020-08-15

RASC (Royal Astronomical Society of Canada) 2020 Best Overall Image winner.

Multiple exposure plays a bit with reality and asks the eye to look closely to see what's happening. Bits and pieces make a whole. Nice drama with diagonal angles while strong vertical anchors hold things firm. Panels of muted color keep things simple. Altered reality creates interest.

Millions of bats streaming across a sunlit sky are breathtaking to watch - and capture. The silhouetted palm is a perfect anchor against the moving tableau and the vastness of the universe. The mix of warm and cool, along with the implied diagonals, add energy to the scene. Colors define shapes that fit like puzzle pieces. Spatial relationships are clear.
