Given the possible negative reaction with some light modeling clays and Wanda plastic, I went with something else.
This is just plain old polyester fiberfill. I figure it's pretty safe, since the frogs can wear polyester clothing without any problems. I filled her head as firmly as I could. It may compact over time, but since I can pull her head off I can put more in. The fiberfill also adds practically ZERO weight, so she doesn't feel any different than the other frogs.

Given the layout of the roads in the area, 181 Hayarkon Street, a residential property in Tel Aviv known also as 'the Crazy House' is more likely to be seen first from its rear, here and actually on Rehov Eliezer Peri. It immediately strikes one as Guadiesque. Gaudi is, indeed, cited as an influence with the other being art nouveau and less obvious.

This is my entry for the Spring 2011 Competition - the attached 'photos tell the story.
I am calling the yarn 'Hanami' (the name given to Japanese cherry blossom viewing picnics), because, while I created it, I couldn't quite keep out of my mind the contrast between the pleasurable activity I was undertaking and the trauma being suffered in Japan. I looked at Shiela's 'photo and felt decidedly challenged, as the colours did not encompass the range I usually work with. However, inspired by the delicate blossom, beautiful sky and tracery of red-brown twigs with hints of green leaves to come, I decided to experiment with some of the ideas I had garnered from Alison Daykin and Jane Deane's beautiful book, keeping as close to the 'photo as I possibly could, and making the most of some of the materials at my disposal.
I am lucky to live in a Cotswold village, where farming friends let me have Romney fleece which I prepare at home. First carded 85/15 with Satin Angora from my pet rabbit, then spun as a single, this was then plied with another single of 30% Romney-Angora, 30% blended pale blues of merino tops, 20% dark green merino carded with pale green hand-dyed silk throwsters waste and 20% brown wool from a Jacob's fleece carded with deep cherry and ochre pre-dyed merino. Each colour was added separately to the single in equal sections, in the order I felt gave the best colour balance to the yarn. (Initially, I tried plying two of the coloured singles together, keeping the coloured sections parallel, as best I could, but the result was too busy and had too strong a feel next to the 'photo. I opted instead to ply the mullti-coloured single with a plain cream one, which made it more restful.)
Given the time of year and afforded a special opportunity on Thursday afternoon, I just had to post these. Unfortunately, (and uncharacteristically for NYC in September) the afternoon had become quite overcast.
It's hard to appreciate the scale of the site from these photos - needless to say, it is immense.

These are all dried roses given to me by my husband or children on various celebrations (birthday, birth of a child, anniversary) over the past 7 years. I am clearing them out of the dining cabinet in which I had them displayed. The crystal punch bowl in which they sit was used at the baby shower for my mother when she was carrying me.
I wish I could hold on to the time a little longer and I swore I would remember when I received every, single flower. These were all given out of the love I am so very blessed to have in my life.

Foundation stone 26 Jul 1907 by John Murray, opened 13 Oct 1907 on land given by Jabez Hillier, closed c1960. First services held in barn. Building rented by Education Dept for school 1908-23 until new school built. District known as Evanston Gardens since 1968.
“For about three years strenuous efforts have been made by the residents of tho Gawler Blocks and others to secure a building in that locality for the purpose of holding day school, church services, concerts, etc., and they are now being rewarded with success. On Saturday afternoon they had the satisfaction of seeing the foundation stone of such a building laid . . . The land on which the building is erected was presented by Mr. Jabez Hillier, and the foundation stone was given by Mr. Laycock. The movement was first taken up by the Rev F. H. Bardwell, who for over two years conducted services, on behalf of the Presbyterian Church, in a large barn which was kindly lent by the late Mrs. G. Hillier, and since her death by Mr. Jabez Hillier. . . At present a number of children have to walk over three miles to school daily, and they have the same distance to tramp if they wish to attend Sunday School, so that the building when completed will be a great boon to both parents and children.” [Bunyip 26 Jul 1907]

Given an image, split it into blocls. For each block, note the histogram of each row and column. To decode, choose the most likely color at each point given the intersection of the row and column histograms.

Kind of works, but there is an extra requirement of smoothness that should be satisfied for the decoding to look the best.

I was given a bike and asked to make something cool out of it for an art show. This is what I did. You can see it in person at the opening reception this Friday at 36 East Grand Ave in Downtown Chicago. Cool.
Given that it was originally an ancient Roman armored gateway, that place has seen its share of remakes.
Guests were each given a white string to tie around the bride and grooms wrist to symbolize a blessing. As the guest tied the string they spoke a blessing aloud for the couple.
Laos tradition requires that the ties not be cut from the wrist, so the wearer must wait for them to fall off or loosen enough to slip them over the wrist.
These strings took around 4 weeks to loosen enough to remove from our wrists.
