This camera was given to me in 2003 by my uncle who lived up the street from me in Yonkers, NY. He told me how he gave away a Rollei TLR and a Rollei 35mm camera to a stranger he met on a cruise because the guy was interested in the cameras. I said I would never ask him for a camera but I would have liked it if he had given them to me. He said he had one other camera but it was at my cousins house, so he told his son to give it to me. It took 15 years before I actually got the camera and it was a surprise to actually get the camera after all these years. It was at the wedding of my niece and one of those great family reunions that don't happen enough anymore for our family. He brought it in to the reception and before this, I had not heard of a Kalloflex but it is in great condition with only the leather cracking from so many years of poor storage or neglect. I haven't used it yet as a camera but I have the film and my only problem these days is focusing, my eyes are having some difficulty these days but getting this camera was one of the great things that happened this summer and the memories of my uncle and his generosity and spirit.

The CPMR’s Intermediterranean Commission (IMC) has given its full backing to key plans for a territorial alliance aimed at developing a long-term strategy to build a sustainable future for all citizens in the Mediterranean.

The ‘Mediterranean Cooperation Alliance Joint Declaration’ was signed by political representatives from 5 Mediterranean organisations - including the IMC, the Euroregion Pyrénées-Méditerranée (EPM), MedCities, Latin Arc, and the Adriatic-Ionian Euroregion - at a major international seminar on ‘The Future of the Mediterranean Region after 2020’, held in Barcelona on 4 February being co-organized by the Catalan Government, the EPM and the IMC and attended by more than 200 participants.

This event and signature were performed in the broader framework of the “Mediterranean Catalonia Forum,” that focused on reinforcing the importance of the Mediterranean worldwide and the crucial role of regional cooperation in the EU and Euro-Mediterranean agenda and policies.

It was held back-to-back with the renewal of the Presidency of the Euroregion Pyrénées-Méditerranée, from the Government of Catalonia to the Balearic Islands, and the organisation of the CPMR Intermediterranean Commission Political Bureau.

The signature of the “Mediterranean Cooperation Alliance” was attended in particular by politicians of all the involved networks and will remain open for other key actors to endorse it in the future.

Its priorities, among others, are as follows:

• The demands that governing institutions – considering the post-2020 horizon and the two next programming periods – work harder towards the implementation and integration of emerging sea basin, macro-regional strategies and other connected initiatives and cooperation instruments, so as to build a common, more cohesive sustainable and co-owned Mediterranean macro-region involving all the territorial actors;

• Structuring a strong and operational multi-level and multi-stakeholder network, in order to work – together with EU and Euro-Mediterranean Institutions - in a more integrated way in the long run, to design and develop common projects and to support policies based on capitalization of results (e.g. from the Interreg MED Thematic Communities);

• Offering firm support to cooperation at political and technical levels between regional and local stakeholders in the EU, the IPA countries and non-European Mediterranean partner countries, as well as among all the components of the four helix: public and private sector, academia and non-governmental organizations/civil society.

Given that it is a military college, I was not surprised that the campus was very neat and tidy, with nothing out of place and the buildings all in good order.

A 1965 Porsche 911 model has been given a bold redesign using the iconic stripes of British brand Paul Smith. the classic racer debuted its multicolored makeover when it competed at the vintage sports car event, ie mans classic, over the weekend.

The aesthetic continues from the Porsche‘s exterior to interior, boasting a dark green roll cage, racing seat cushions in petrol blue, and a signed wooden gear shift. most of the car’s interior fittings have been stripped away, allowing the designers to continue the stripe motif throughout the car’s floor and tub.

The project reflects the long-seeded connection between the iconic British fashion house and the world of cars. Paul Smith has previously collaborated with land rover on a one-off edition decorated in a palette of 27 individual colors. the makeover is a special collaboration between Paul smith and James Turner—founder of sports purpose, a car garage dedicated to Porsche customizations.

‘I have always been a fan of Paul Smith and I still remember buying my first Paul Smith jumper and jeans — in fact, I still have them!‘, turner said. ‘I am absolutely thrilled with the result and hope that fans of Paul Smith, Porsche and racing worldwide will enjoy seeing it out and about in the future, looking utterly resplendent in its unique artist’s stripe livery.’

Given enough time, nothing men creates will survive both the rain and the sun. We are fools to think otherwise.

Given that the Seattle Kraken only started playing in the NHL last year, this would be a first in Seattle Pride history: a rainbow themed Kraken zamboni. (Note the sign on the front: PRIDE RUNS DEEP.) I suppose it's possible they had some kind of presence in the 2019 parade while still in planning stages—I really can't remember—but this is certainly their first appearance in the parade a an actively playing professional team.

Baháʼí World Centre is the name given to the spiritual and administrative centre of the Baháʼí Faith, representing sites in or near the cities of Acre and Haifa, Israel. Much of the international governance and coordination of the Baháʼí Faith occurs at the Baháʼí World Centre, including global teaching plans and study and translation of the Baháʼí holy writings. The Universal House of Justice, representing the supreme governing body of the Baháʼí Faith, resides in Haifa. The Baháʼí World Centre is also a major destination for religious tourism, and the current destination for Baháʼí pilgrimage, attracting annually about one million visitors. The location of the Baháʼí World Centre originated in Baháʼu'lláh's banishment and imprisonment to the fortress of Acre in 1868 by Ottoman authorities. Many of the locations at the Baháʼí World Centre, including the terraces and the Shrine of the Báb which constitute the north slope of Mount Carmel, were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2008. History - The location of the administrative centre was a result of a successive number of banishments and imprisonments of Baháʼu'lláh, founder of the Baháʼí Faith. Baháʼu'lláh was banished from Persia by Nasser al-Din Shah in 1853, at which time Baháʼu'lláh went to Baghdad in the Ottoman Empire. Later he was exiled by the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, at the behest of the Persian Shah, to territories further away from Iran and finally to Acre in Ottoman Syria in 1868. Baháʼu'lláh lived out the rest of his life in the area and he communicated with his followers throughout the Middle East, Central Asia and India through special couriers, and Acre became the centre of the expanding network of Baháʼí groups. When Baháʼu'lláh's imprisonment was eased, the area also became a centre of Baháʼí pilgrimage as Baháʼís would travel the long distance to see Baháʼu'lláh. The location of the Shrine of the Báb on Mount Carmel was indicated by Baháʼu'lláh to his son ʻAbdu'l-Bahá during a visit to Haifa. Furthermore, the establishing of the administrative centre of the Baháʼí Faith on Mount Carmel was also indicated by Baháʼu'lláh in his Tablet of Carmel, which is considered one of the charter documents of the Baháʼí administration. Baháʼu'lláh died in 1892 near Acre, and his resting place is in Bahji. Following his death, Baháʼu'lláh's son ʻAbdu'l-Bahá was appointed to be the head of his father's faith and the condition of the area as the centre of Baháʼí activity continued. He continued to correspond with Baháʼís all over the world, including now Baháʼís in the West. While he was still officially a prisoner and confined to Acre, ʻAbdu'l-Bahá also organized the transfer of the remains of the Báb from Iran to Palestine. He organized the purchase of land on Mount Carmel that Baháʼu'lláh had instructed should be used to lay the remains of the Báb and organized for the construction of the Shrine of the Báb. This process took another 10 years and was completed in 1909. In 1908, the Young Turks revolution freed all political prisoners in the Ottoman Empire, and ʻAbdu'l-Bahá was freed from imprisonment. Soon after the revolution, he moved to live in Haifa near the Shrine of the Báb, and since then the administrative headquarters of the religion have been in Haifa. During the final years of ʻAbdu'l-Bahá's life the increasing levels of correspondence led to the employment of a number of secretaries including some in Western languages and the provision of a Pilgrim House in the area. ʻAbdu'l-Bahá died in 1921, and was buried in a room of the Shrine of the Báb in Haifa. After ʻAbdu'l-Bahá's death, Shoghi Effendi was the head of the religion, and he directed the development of a number of separate projects in the area. He renovated the house of Baháʼu'lláh in Bahji in 1929, and in the 1950s secured legal possession of the lands around the building, creating a number of gardens. He also obtained possession of other sites around Acre related to Baháʼu'lláh's life, including the House of ʻAbbud. Around Haifa, he expanded the Shrine of the Báb by developing its golden-domed superstructure and purchased lands surrounding the Shrine in order to create gardens. Shoghi Effendi had also decided that the buildings housing the institutions of the religion indicated in Baháʼu'lláh's Tablet of Carmel, including the Universal House of Justice, the as yet unestablished governing body of the worldwide Baháʼí community, would be arranged in the shape of an arc surrounded by gardens. The fulcrum of this arc would be the Monument Gardens, which hold the graves of members of the Baháʼí holy family. During his own lifetime he started the construction of one of the buildings comprising the arc, the International Archives building. He also negotiated tax-exempt status for all Baha'i properties. The religion's situation in Israel was clarified in an agreement signed in 1987 by then Vice-Premier and Foreign Minister, Shimon Peres, in which the government formally acknowledged the Baháʼí Faith as a “recognized religious community in Israel,” declared its "friendly relations" with the Baháʼí world community, noted that the "holiest places of the Baháʼí Faith, … are located in Israel", and confirmed "that the Universal House of Justice is the Trustee of the Baháʼí International Community over the Holy Places of the Baháʼí Faith in Israel and over the Baháʼí endowments in Israel". The other buildings of the Arc, the Seat of the Universal House of Justice, the Centre for the Study of the Sacred Texts, and the Seat of the International Teaching Centre, were completed in 1982, 1999 and 2000 respectively. The fifth and yet-to-be-built building, the International Baháʼí library, is planned to be eventually built at the eastern end of the Arc, and is anticipated as a center for "knowledge in all fields", including scientific investigation. The Baháʼí Terraces, or the Hanging Gardens of Haifa, are garden terraces on Mount Carmel in Haifa, and one of the most popular tourist destinations in Israel. Completed in 2001, there are 19 terraces and more than 1,500 steps ascending the mountain. The central terrace has the Shrine of the Báb, one of the main religious figures of the Baháʼí Faith. The architect was Fariborz Sahba from Iran, and the structural engineers were Karban and Co. from Haifa. The terraces are part of a complex of Baháʼí holy places in Haifa, Acre, and western Galilee that were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2008. The gardens rest in the neighborhoods of Wadi Nisnas and Hadar HaCarmel. The terraces represent the first eighteen disciples of the Báb, who were designated "Letters of the Living", although no terraces are connected with particular individuals. Nine concentric circles provide the main geometry of the eighteen terraces. Just as the identification of a circle presupposes a centre, so the terraces have been conceived as generated from the Shrine of the Báb. The eighteen terraces plus the one terrace of the Shrine of the Báb make nineteen terraces total. Nineteen is a significant number within both the Baháʼí and Bábí religions. The gardens have elements of the Persian gardens of Shiraz, Iran, the Nishat Bagh gardens of Jammu and Kashmir, India and English gardens, isolating the site from the noise of the surroundings and connecting the different Baháʼí buildings on Mount Carmel together. Fariborz Sahba began work in 1987 designing the gardens and oversaw construction. The terraces were opened to the public in June 2001. Beginning at its base, the gardens extend almost one kilometre (0.6 miles) up the side of Mount Carmel, covering some 200,000 square metres (2,152,782 square feet) of land. The gardens are linked by a set of stairs flanked by twin streams of running water cascading down the mountainside through the steps and terrace bridges. The irrigation system includes a computer which, based on meteorologic data it receives, controls hundreds of valves to distribute water throughout the gardens by sprinkling and dripping. This is done at night and in the early morning, to avoid wasting water by evaporation. The water that flows alongside the stairs is circulating in a closed system within each terrace, so that little water is wasted. Haifa’s Mayor Amram Mitzna described the gardens as the eighth wonder of the world. "We have been very lucky," he said, "not many cities get a park that is so incredibly beautiful – free of charge."

Often locomotives are given female personia's, and it is quite common for a seasoned enthusiast to 'adopt' a particular locomotive and refer to it as 'she' or 'her'.

For me it always has been 90042, since my first experience behind her in 2002.

However this year for me it has all been about 90048. I'm sure if 90042 had been a woman she would not have been pleased; not only have I done every passenger turn '048 has worked, I also missed '042s final passenger run whilst I was out of the country - doh!

So the question is, now 90042 is dead, would she mind if I hung round her sister 90048?

“Church of Scotland Society. . . It was the intention of the Society to build their church upon ground (a quarter acre) in Wakefield-street, kindly presented by George Morphett, Esq., but the Society having received from Edward Stephens, Esq., the additional most handsome and generous donation of a quarter of an acre in Grenfell-street, nearly opposite Mr Lambert's private residence, the Committee with Mr Morphett's consent have determined to build the church upon the latter. The estimate of Mr Jones is very moderate. . . His Excellency the Governor has kindly given a handsome subscription and we understand that private gentlemen of the Church of England, and of other denominations, will also contribute in a similar way.” [Southern Australian 16 Jan 1844]

“the laying of a foundation stone with Masonic honours. The building, of which the first stone was thus laid, is the Scotch Church, in Grenfell-street. . . The Lodges afterwards dined together in Payne's, along with several other gentlemen who had been present at the ceremony.” [Register 7 Feb 1844]

“St. Andrew’s Church. . . the Presbyterian Church, Grenfell-street, has got the roof on, and is nearly finished. Though by no means a large building, it is admired for its tasteful and even handsome appearance, and does much credit to the architect, Mr Jones.” [Southern Australian 14 May 1844]

“The Scottish Church, Grenfell-street, the first erected in South Australia for the use of members of the Church of Scotland, was opened for public worship on Sunday last, the 14th current. The service was performed in the forenoon by the Rev. Robert Haining, pastor of the congregation; in the afternoon by the Rev. Ralph Drummond, minister of the Presbyterian Church, Gouger-street; and in the evening by the Rev. T. Q. Stow, of the Congregational Church, Freeman-street. . . The church is small, being calculated to accommodate with perfect comfort only about two hundred and fifty adults; but its tasteful appearance was the theme of universal praise. . . The Wesleyans showed their good wishes by closing their chapel in the evening, so as to afford them an opportunity of visiting the new place for worship.” [Adelaide Observer 20 Jul 1844]

“Church of Scotland . . . The church was crowded on every occasion, except in the forenoon, when the boisterous weather doubtless prevented many from attending; but those who did appear, showed their good will by the liberality of their donations, in behalf of the funds for erecting the church, the collection being upwards of £9, and altogether the handsome sum of £15 15s. was contributed by the public at the three services.” [Register 17 Jul 1844]

“The second was ‘The Established Church’, which was created in 1841, the little place of worship being situated where Cowra Chambers stand in Grenfell-street. Chalmers Church was started as the free Church, and its first minister was the Rev. J. Gardner, father of Dr. Gardner, formerly of Adelaide and latterly of Melbourne. The Rev. J. Davidson succeeded him, and for many years presided over the congregation before he died, and was succeeded by Dr. Paton, the present minister, in 1877.” [Advertiser 29 Jun 1896]

“Mr. Arthur Waterhouse bought the old St. Andrew's kirk, which stood on the site of Cowra Chambers, Grenfell street. When the church was demolished the plate under the foundation stone was preserved. I understand that Mr. Waterhouse has it.” [News 19 Nov 1928]

Kollosus, given name Kirk Young, was born in Jamaica and moved to America as a young teen. This timely transition in cultures offered him what has proven to be the best of both worlds in music, arts and entertainment. His rhythmic hip hop style and his staccato reggae flow give him a unique swag that compares to none. This combination makes him an excellent artist for the international market. Kollosus has strong work ethic, determination and strives for perfection. To quote him, “I have always been willing to do what needed to be done to be on top of everything I do, and I have set the mode to be on top of the music game. Right now, where I sit, I cannot see anything but sunshine and clear skies. Relax and take notes.”

Currently, Kollosus is an independent artist working with Gary “DJ Caesah” DaCosta of Soundproof Records in partnership with KBM “Known Business Men”, Kollosus’ own company. Kollosus’ new single Foreign, which features Future, is currently ripping the clubs and airwaves in the southeast. Foreign is a colossal leap from Kollosus first major feature, which was on “What Is It” starring Rick Ross and Gorilla Zoe, and solidifies his position as the next major player in hip hop.

Kollosus is well respected in the industry and has contributions from some of supreme artists and producers including, but not limited to; Gucci Mane (feat “Setting Standards”), Travis Porter (feat “Swing”), Rock City (feat “One Day”), Young Scooter (feat “Cash Out”), Cool and Dre, DJ Toomp, Drumma Boy, Zytoven, F.L. Y., Young Jeezy, and Gorilla Zoe.

He’s able to leap continents in a single verse. Is it hip hop? Is it reggae? No, it’s Kollosus, the International Hip Hop Hero and his secret weapon is Super Flow.

This is a photograph from the annual Ardagh Moydow Glen Community Games 5KM and 10 Mile road races, fun runs, walks and challenges which were held in the heritage village of Ardagh, Co. Longford, Ireland on Monday 28th December 2015 at 13:00. In an opposite turn to last year's frosty icy weather participants today were given a very very windy day with heavy rain at the finish of both races. The 10 mile race takes in the local 'Ardagh Mountain' which is a 1 mile continuous climb starting at the 2.5 mile mark of the 10 mile race. The 5KM race takes a loop around the heritage village of Ardagh. Overall this is a very well organised race with accurate courses, good marshalling and traffic control and excellent after race refreshments.

The bad weather made photography particularly difficult but we did manage to get the start of both races and the first handful of finishers from the 10 mile race. They are available on Flickr [https://www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157662725299342]The 10 mile race is one of the longest road races held during the Christmas period anywhere in Ireland and has appeal to runners who want to add a longer distance race to their festive calendar of running.

Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs

We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?

The explaination is very simple.

Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.

ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. Given today's news that we have experienced the hottest June and July since 2006 I think I now understand why I have been so rough. Sharp-eyed viewers may have noted that nearly all my shots have been evening ones as it has been too hot to venture out with a camera. Now that the weather has broken I ventured out for the first mid-afternoon in a long while and found 20+ seals were in at Brancaster, sunning themselves and taking relaxation to a whole new level.

JROTC Award Given at DAR Picnic to Anthony William Thursby on Sat. June 11, 2016. The Annual William Tuffs Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) held their annual summer picnic at the Willowdale Park Pavilion in Elkhart, Indiana on Saturday, June 11, 2016.At their abbreviated official meeting, they presented Anthony William Thursby with the JROTC Outstanding Recipient Award. He attended the picnic with his sister, Cassandra. The next DAR meeting is in September. As is the Chapter’s custom, they invited the Veterans from the Robert L. Miller, Sr. Veterans Center in South Bend, Indiana and the Color Guard organized by Ed Buras. Jamie and Ed Buras accompanied the Veterans to the picnic. The Color Guard extends Honors to Veterans at Funerals and participate in Parades and at other requested events. Those interested in this service, can contact Buras at the Center. DAR

Member Beth Thurston posed in front of her flag collection with Penny Bucks who made a special apron for Thurston. A delicious homemade buffet dinner complete with dessert was served, and afterward, the group played Bingo for the many white elephant prizes that had been brought by the DAR members. The remaining gifts after the game were given to the Center for those unable to attend the picnic.
