The Basilica at the Abbey of Montecassino was destroyed when the monastery was bombed on 15th February 1944, during the final stage of World War II. It was re-built according to the architectural and decoration pattern of the 17th and 18th century design attributed to C. Fansago.

Deze houten staakmolen op torenkot is afkomstig uit Westkapelle, waar hij in 1771 werd gebouwd. Hij werd in 1920 afgebroken en naar Gits gebracht. Op het einde van de Grijspeerdstraat, tegen de grens met Torhout, werd hij opnieuw opgebouwd. De Grijspeerdmolen werd in 1975 als monument beschermd. De molen werd in 1979 weer afgebroken en overgebracht naar een stuk grond aan het Dominiek Savio-instituut in de Koolskampstraat. Hij werd gerestaureerd en opnieuw maalklaar gemaakt in 1984.
