I was taking a picture of something else for the Girlfriend last night and realized the setup I had would work well for a Megatron shot.
I applied some of my newly gained knowledge from the Strobist Seminar I attended in Pheonix a few weeks ago. I buit the setup from the back forward. I setup the background light first, then added the main light, then finally the key light. (BTW it was awesome to see David Hobby in action).
Strobist Info: Nikon SB-25 at 1/8th power camera left through a white shoot through Westscott umbrella (just outside of frame). Nikon SB-25 at 1/16th power with a red gel on a white wall for the background light. Sigma EF-500 DG Super at 1/128th power with DIY snoot, back camera right (just out of frame) for a key light.

Lovely sunset, no? No. It's just a cluster of really bright street lanterns a couple of hundred meters from the rooftop we were looking down from. Neon romance all the way, baby.

four very pretty girlfriends having fun out on 6th street in Austin, Texas - 01.29.2011 just before 2 A.M. on a January night......
I was shooting some video in 16x9 format and forgot to set it back to 4x3.... but in this case it worked well.
