A couple of ghosts either exiting or standing in a pumpkin. I am not going to offer my thoughts as to which is right.

Ghost Ranch Lodge
Pima County, Arizona
Since 1941, Ghost Ranch Lodge in Tucson, Arizona, has played an important role in the tourist commerce, specifically for its influence on the planning, design and development of subsequent motor hotels as seen along Miracle Mile Road at the city’s northern gateway. The work of master architect Josias Thomas Joesler as conveyed through his innovative site plan, artistic Period Revival design, rustic use of materials and a high understanding of workmanship; and for the subsequent evolution of motel architecture and planning as conveyed through its subsequent additions of buildings and spaces. The Ghost ranch Lodge is Tucson’s first destination courtyard motor lodge that combined the access and affordability of a motel with the character of a dude ranch and the amenities of a resort. The 5.8-acre Ghost ranch Lodge was one of the first and largest tourist accommodations---which provided affordable accommodations with up-scale accommodations for long-term guests. When the Ghost Ranch Lodge opened in 1941 it was a group of eight romanticized Mexican casitas immediately surrounding a formal courtyard and central terrace that created the feeling of a destination rather than a motor court. The tourist business began blossoming in the “old Pueblo” of Tucson in 1922.

I made this shot a few days ago when I was on photo tour with a good friend. It was already at the end of the day and it was pretty cold already but I just wanted to make some last shots across the water. I did this shot on full zoom with my 75-300 mm lens. It already was a nice sundown picture but I found it a bit boring. So I started editing and after quite a while I got this :)

Nyx Karas leaves the safety of the lighthouse in spite of the raging storm outside, wrapping the cape tight around herself to protect her from the wind and the rain. Sharp claws soon dig into the walls of the stone building as the human-looking cat makes her way up the tower of the lighthouse, she wanted to check the fire up there one last time. It would be disastrous for nearby ships if it were to go out now, and she knows this as she presses her body close against the wall and steps over the ledge into the reflector room. The fire seems to be burning just fine within the thick, protective glass windows and she turns around to look at the view of the island and the storm.
And then she sees it. In the bay right below she spots a pale, almost white ship that seems to float just above the water's surface rather than on it. Her eyes widen and she draws a breath, seeing how the beacon's light appears to pass through the ship as if it was transparant. A shiver goes down her spine and she hurries back down, going back inside and locking the door behind her.
My Japanese Ghost Detector arrived the other day. It supposedly detects changes in the electro-magnetic field and starts blinking red if it detects a ghost. Hmmmm.....
So far it hasn't found any. I took it down to the Strand the other day and no luck....nor were there any at the Credit Union earlier today.... Ya gotta figure that since 8,000-12,000 people died in the 1900 Hurricane, ghosts are everywhere in Galveston....
Then again...lol....what do you expect from a $18 piece of plastic with LED lights....(damn the weak dollar)..hahah
Now if I could only figure out how to integrate it into my Twitter account. :-)

On a recent Saturday, I had the good fortune to be able to attend a workshop put on by Jeff Sullivan of Bodie Photo Workshops along with several other talented photographers for a night shoot at Bodie Ghost Town.
Our arrival was greeted with a downpour, but we were rewarded with a rainbow, and shortly after, the skies cleared into a beautiful star-filled night.
My cohorts for the night were Ryan Watamura, roma g, Natalia Stone, bert dennison, Maximilian Laue, Lori Hibbett, Jeff Sullivan, and Tony Rowell. I'd also like to send a big thank you to Danni and The Bodie Foundation.
