It's been a while since I've been to the Lake District, I keep managing to find a photo from my last hike there.. but photo's are running short... I need another visit :-)
Traveling for our postponed and overdue vacation last week. Plenty of captures to share incoming, including this set of frisky trucks outside our hotel stop along the way.
It's a foggy morning as Norfolk Southern train 37Q darts past train 16T. The two freights are meeting at Cleversburg Junction, the site of an old spur to a nearby iron ore mining operation that's been gone for more than a century. The rumble from NS 9165 grows louder as the engineer charges up the air and gets ready to roll. The old Conrail tri-lights are blinking an Approach Limited, letting him know he can proceed east on the Lurgan Branch.

One of the triplets. I did get to see a glimpse of all 3 at the same time but they are just like kids and weren't all looking at the same time for the picture. Lots of wing stretching happening, wouldn't be surprised if they get out soon and test them out.
Its getting fairly busy here for me & I'm sure many here can understand the huss & fuss at this time of the year :) I will be ending my post for 2009 sometime next week as I will be going on a holiday until next year! In another words, I HAD ENOUGH! lol! Yeah pls get jealous & suck on it! :P
Anyway, found another gem in my archive :)) Didn't know why this has been hidden in my pants all along. I bet it has been waiting all this moment to come out lol! Have an awesome friday & weekend! Happy Xmas shopping!

- Applied very slight noise reduction at selective area
- Used slight 'unsharp mask' (as always) on the background layer

It must have been a chilly June morning (about 6 AM) when this image was taken as the beautiful female mountain bluebird has puffed up some of her feathers.
These special birds will be back in about 7 or 8 weeks. Given the cold and snow in Alberta at the moment, it seems like a pipedream. However, there is lots of time for the sun to warm things up as the days get longer.
Is it me or does little guy not appear to be hanging on very tightly?
SOOC on my nightly walk with you know who. She is a great decoy as the birds turn their heads for the camera!

Gets a little tired of my own photos. Really like to experiment with camera . Not everything will be good, but it's fun
One of many shots I took at Porthcawl Lighthouse yesterday when the seas were very rough with Storm Herminia passing through. It is very safe there taking shots as most people stand behind the sea wall but a few stalwarts stand very close to the sea - it isn't quite as scary as it looks as they can reach the safety of higher ground very quickly but I must admit I would never risk it! I took way too many shots but will upload a few when I get time to sort through them.
