Ringo, the one on the right, from our NSPCA Adopt-A-Bowl shoot about one year ago has finally found his Fo'ever home!
From the good people at Pawtastic Friends who worked tirelessly to make this happen:
"It’s hard to describe what today means to me or for that matter to many of us. Ringo has been waiting very patiently for his happily ever after. Well, guys today was the day. Everybody’s favorite boy Ringo has worked so hard for this day. Today wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of many many people that loved him. Rescue when done right is a group effort. Melissa worked tirelessly to get him to safety. She found a safe place for him to land at Friends For Life Humane Society. The changes in Ringo were almost immediate. The guys that run promised him that they wouldn’t give up on him. So today as a family we can all celebrate his happily ever after. Thank you to the volunteers that never gave up, the generous donors that made his Enrichment Training possible and to the many people who shared his journey. This is what happiness looks like. Ringo’s new dad loves him and Ringo has 50+ acres to play and even his own pond to splash in. He found the pond right off the bat. Let’s all continue to share the dogs that might take a bit longer to get adopted. There’re right home will come along. Happy Gotcha Day Ringo! We all love you. Love now and forever Fireball."

As winter draws nearer and daylight savings drew to a close, I once again find myself in the end-of-the-year hibernation that seems to have become an annual occurrence. Certainly a struggle to find the desire to want to shoot anything when darkness comes quick, the days get chillier, and probably most importantly, a lack of stuff I actually want to bag. So many things I would otherwise enjoy shooting have become nocturnal, and everything else is too far away to justify - be it time, distance, or cost to get there being the killer. A little burnout from a long year is the cherry on top of it all.
But, all is not lost. All it takes is the right thing to prod me and I'm out in the hot seat once again. A little heads-up that CN A407 had the venerable IC1000 leading it earlier in the day made me decide for once it would be worth jumping out of the house and taking a peek. I needed to run some errands anyway, why not have a look? Happily enough, I ran across the train as it was pulling up to Leverett Junction for a recrew. It was only a short wait until they were ready to go and moving - and I just couldn't resist going for the classic twin elevators of Leverett proper for a shot.
IC1000, class leader of the Illinois Central SD70s, has become the most coveted of all 26 all-black units today. Earlier this year, while in for its usual maintenance, the 1000 was given a gift: new white reflective tape to replace the ~17 year old yellow tape on the sill and footwells.
With a paint scheme as incredibly simple as the IC New Image "Death Star" is, even the smallest changes make a big difference - and wow, what a difference the white sill makes here. The addition of the AC and the - thankfully - tastefully small PTC antennae on the roof of the unit means you wouldn't fool anyone into thinking it would fit perfectly into the 1990s again... but it's pretty damn close. Although unlikely, it would be a real treat to see some more of the SD70s regain their white sills again. One can dream, anyway.
I've not had the best luck catching the IC1000 after its re-silling, so to get a chance to nab it again was a real delight. Some would complain about the CN-dressed IC1009 trailing, but I didn't terribly mind. No matter what trails, I'll never complain about getting to see the 1000 in the lead!
Not sure which way round these panties should be worn - not that it matters much when I'm prevented from enjoying them by the stainless steel "Panties From Hell".

I really want to make sure I look my best this evening so I am taking extra care over my make up. Isn't make up wonderful you can make just the slightest adjustment with some eye shadow or liner or use a slightly lighter or darker shade of lipstick and you can look so much different which, in turn, can make you feel so much better and much more confident.

Monasteries are getting more alive when Tibetans are visiting.
Drepung Monastery was founded in 1416 by Jamyang Choje Tashi Palden (1397-1449), and named after the sacred abode of Shridhanyakataka in South India. Jamyang Choje was one of Tsongkhapa`s foremost disciples, and it is known that Tsongkhapa himself taught at the site of the new monastery. The complex developed rapidly with the assistance of the Phakmodru kings, especially Nedong Namka Zangpo, so that by its second year there were 2000 monks. In the early years of the 16th century, the Second Dalai Lama took possesion of the Ganden Podrang at Drepung, which was later to become an important centre of political power in Tibet. At the time when the Fifth Dalai Lama assumed spiritual and temporal power in 1641, Drepung had approximately 10000 affiliated monks, who hailed from 321 different branch monasteries and lived according to nationality in 50-60 different houses, making it the largest monastery in the world. Drepung`s influence within the Gelukpa world extended far to the east and northeast through Amdo and Mongolia. The abbot-preceptor of drepung, known as the Tripa Khenpo, was formerly an influential figure within the Tibetan government.
Much of the 20000 sq m complex at Drepung has survived unscathed, despite repeated plunder inflicted upon it - by King Tsangpa Desi of Zhigatse during the civil war in 1618, by the Mongols in 1635, Lhazang Qan in 1706 and the Chinese during the recent Cultural Revolution.
Many of the surviving buildings date from the 17th-18th century. The monastery reopened in 1980, with a population of approximately 500, most of them young novices, but in recent years the numbers have been considerably reduced in consequence of the active programme of political indoctrination initiated here by resident communist party cadres.
The complex consists of the Central Assembly Hall ( Tsokchen Lhakang), the Ganden Palace ( Ganden Podrang), and a series of seven colleges ( Tratsang), each originally under the control of one or other of Jamyang Choje`s students, and each containing its own residential units (Khangtsang). Four of these colleges (Ngakpa, Loseling, Deyang, and Tashi Gomang) survive to the present. The other three, Dulwa, Sha-khor, and Tosamling, unfortunately declined during the 18th century. The pilgrim`s circumambulatory route around Drepung follows the sequence Ganden Podrang, assembly Hall, Ngakpa Tratsang, Jamyang Lhakhang, Loseling Tratsang, Tashi Gomang Tratsang and Deyang Tratsang.

My wife pins a ribbon to my daughters dress. Getting ready for the 17th May festivities here in Norway
These pics were taken in late February of 2020, over a year ago. I already knew that I was gaining weight, but these pics put things in perspective--I didn't like how I was looking. Clothes simply weren't fitting.
So I decided I really needed to lose weight. So, to now, through a sensible diet and a regular exercise program, I have lost close to 25 pounds and dropped from about a size 20 to pretty close to size 16.
I am very gratified how I have progressed but I would love to lose another 10.
I wonder if I would have been this focused if it weren't for the pandemic lockdown.

This essay by Karen Halvorsen Schreck is the only pre-existing text included in trying to get a sense of scale. She has written on Tim's work more than any other writer and it seemed fitting to include this incisive piece is from a 2002 exhibition catalogue.

Like that exhibition this book focuses on work that Tim as done related to his daughter over the last 28 years. The book includes insightful texts by Karen Halvorsen Schreck, Riva Lehrer, Henry Luttikhuizen, Sherrie Lowly, Kelly VanderBrug and project editor Kevin Hamilton.
The 160 page, 10.5"x 9" book is extensively illustrated with over 70 color and 25 black and white illustrations.

Lately, I've been in the mood to create more adult images. While I don't shoot with male models often, I happened to know a really sexy one who lives close to me, and he had time in his schedule!
Early at the Great Falls Balloon Festival in Lewiston, Maine, vendors are getting their wares ready for the day. Unfortunately the balloons did not launch that morning but coffee and breakfast items were selling.

This lovely lady posed is giving me her details so I could send her a picture I had taken earlier. She had a lovely smile.
Jazz was on my lap a little while ago getting the second of his three physical therapy treatments today. I just said to him, “You are such a pretty comma good dog.” That was to make sure he understood I wasn’t saying he was just a pretty good dog.
He has been an exceptionally patient patient, and he's healing well. He won't be himself until at least September 6th, when we return to the surgeon for the final checkup. I hope by then he's easily walking on his left leg.

A Palestinian group from Gaza hacks into North Korea’s cryptocurrency system, stealing hundreds of millions of dollars. Their true goal is not money—but to recreate the lost homeland of Gaza on American soil.
Amid the backdrop of hardline Republican immigration policies and a growing wave of xenophobia, a quiet plan begins to take shape: the gradual collapse of America from within.
During a speech at Madison Square Garden, Republican presidential candidate Justin Bradford is shot. Almost simultaneously in Los Angeles, former president Owen Reed is attacked at a rally for Democratic hopeful Ryan Bennett.

Their investigation leads them to Rafi Gannam, a former architecture student at the Islamic University of Gaza, who has infiltrated redevelopment sites across Los Angeles and New York—embedding C4 explosives deep within beams and structural cores.
His targets: new residential districts where agents of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and ERO (Enforcement and Removal Operations) live—symbols of “the order America built.”
Veronica urges the President to pursue dialogue to prevent further destruction, but President Grant M. Ranford refuses to listen.
Meanwhile, the recovering Justin and his Democratic rival Ryan appear on national television, calling for unity beyond political divisions.
Their words of reason, however, are drowned out when Grant takes the stage in Iowa, defiantly declaring: “We will never bow to terror.”
Among the crowd, Rafi’s operatives have already taken their positions.
As chaos erupts and the stage collapses, Amir Nasser—once Rafi’s comrade, haunted by the memory of his sister’s death in Gaza—tries desperately to halt the chain of destruction.

•特徴：通常のABO血液型を持たない（A、B、Oに分類されない）特殊な型。
•発見地：1952年、インド・ムンバイ（旧ボンベイ）で初めて確認。
