“Inspiration is needed in geometry, just as much as in poetry.”
(Alexander Pushkin - Russian author, 1799-1837)
The Bhadohi district located at 45 Km from Varanasi (Benaras) is the biggest carpet manufacturing centre in India.
Well known carpets from Bhadohi cover all kind of ranges from mass market to the highest qualities, they are manufactured in various styles and designs.
This is a close-up shot in the factory of my Indian family where I always enjoy to take pictures.

This, without a doubt, is a jigsaw falling into place, and there is nothing to explain...
And yes, the beat still goes round and round... goes round and round!

This is a stint speaking about geometry,
soul geometry ...probably better in large
Questo è un segmento che parla di geometria,
geometria dell'anima ... probabilmente migliore in campo largo
This week Nebulosus turned our club into a fiery volcanic pit. This is my demonic abstraction of the scene.
Geometry: I didnt think i would find something that i thought would be worth capturing for Week#33. There was a few, but this one this was my favorite.

The geometric patterns of the Shell Centre along the Southbank in London.
Shell Centre, in London, England is one of the two "central offices" of oil major Shell (the other is in The Hague). It is located on Belvedere Road in the London Borough of Lambeth. It is a prominent feature on the South Bank of the River Thames near County Hall, and now forms the backdrop to the London Eye.

One of my colleagues suggested to visit the Mas Gusó estate in Sant Pere Pescador. A large vineyard, olive-garden and herbal garden which they use to make wines and olive oils.
The estate is impressive as well as the wine cellar and shops, including a bodega with ample choice. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed for renovations at the time.
Months ago everything we could see was land and dust, today after much diesel and sweat we can see Geometry
George Gill and Sons, 1894 "Gill's New School of Art: Geometry". This was one of my great-grandad's books, and covers plane and solid geometry, with a digression into graphical arithmetic, such as the calculation of square roots. And what a fantastic cover it has.
When this book was published, Queen Victoria was still on the throne, and Coca-Cola was first sold in bottles.

I saw these circles last night and thought they would make a great geometric looking picture. It's amazing how many things you can find that resemble geometry, but i was not looking for these. I happened to look down and there they were.
“Euclid was a Greek mathematician. He is considered the father of Geometry. In greek geo means earth and metria stands for measure. Geometry arose as the field of knowledge dealing with spatial relationships.
(reads) ‘Euclid first defined his basic terms, such as point and line, then stated without proof certain axioms and postulates about them that seemed to be self-evident or obvious truths, and finally derived a number of statements (theorems) from the postulates by means of deductive logic. This axiomatic method has since been adopted not only throughout mathematics but in many other fields as well.’
(Ha. Some people seem to enjoy applying this kind of thinking to pretty organic subjects such as personal relationships.)
(reads on) ‘The close examination of the axioms and postulates of Euclidean geometry during the 19th cent. resulted in the realization that the logical basis of geometry was not as firm as had previously been supposed.’
I´m working my teeth on this piece of Geometry so that it learns to deal with the facts of life in a less rigid way..” Flô
