I spotted this wind generator today, it is located along the Ballyknocken road of the Belfast road. It was snowing,and standing next to this gargantuan machine was awesome...

The base is roughly 250 feet high and the blades are 90 feet tall.

The generator mount is very solid as it picks up the 2 water pump bolts plus the front lower head bolt. The rear mount for the generator is made from 1/2 inch steel and welded to the lower plate that is fastened to the head bolt.

The wind generator is finally mounted on top of Lady Jane's mast.

One of the very few generators seen on the show grounds powering something. There is far more grid power and far fewer generators than at most temporary events.

This is how i envisage the coils to sit on a twelve magnet rotor. Ive only used nine coils to the twenty four magnets to try and weaken the cogging effect the twelve magnets will sit n,s,n,s,n,s etc and north on rotor 1 will face south on rotor 2 each rotor is 155mm diameter and the magnets are centred and evenly spaced at 56mm from the rotor centre see the teep forum for a diagram under self running generator a community project

This is a sculpture made from some of the remains of the homopolar generator built by Mark Oliphant at the Australian National University. It was capable of producing currents of up to 2 million Amps.

I was kind of curious how it works.
