Thank you very much for your comments and faves, regretfully, I am finding it increasingly difficult to reply to your comments, because of my very limited time on the internet, due to constant power interruptions in South Africa. I do read and appreciate every one of them, however! Thanks again!!
Image of steam rising on a cold morning. Taken with an old manual focus nikon e-series 135mm f/2.8 lens, Nikon d40 DSLR camera. Subject added with generative fill AI..

I don’t know how you all process your images but I always keep the master raw in an image library and duplicate individual images and work on them in a WIP folder (belt and braces approach). I seem to have an eclectic selective of unfinished images languishing in said folder so have gone back to them to complete the processing.
I’ve only uploaded this particularly one because I spent a lot of time removing objects from it. In the old days you would have to clone things out, cut and paste over from other areas and a whole lot of clever manipulation to clean up the image (which I’m not particularly good at).
I now use the AI generative fill function all the time, but still have no idea how it does it or how it knows what lies behind the obstruction. In the original raw image, I have removed 3 cars parked kerbside, 2 men walking into the frame on the left, a man operating a mini road sweeper on the right, a woman pushing a pram just behind him. And just before I converted it to a jpeg, I spotted a woman hiding around the alleyway but clearly visible. The generative fill option also assumed there was some sort of a square stone block behind one of the cars, which I have also removed.
Would you have known unless I told you or can you spot a glitch in the matrix?

No, there are no polar bears in Styria/Austria/Europe!!! But AI makes it possible.

A bit of fantasy.
Created with Adobe Firefly only.
I just typed in one simple sentence to create the main scene. Then I used generative fill, within Firefly, on that same image to create the Owl and the bats.
Fun to create. No skills required just imagination.

A dilapidated automobile abandoned in a field in the Columbia Hills State Park is a popular site for photographers to visit when wildflowers are in bloom. Since we visited about ten days after peak bloom I added a few flowers to enhance the area that had been trampled by previous visitors.

I took a shot that I shot earlier in the week in a backyard pool, played around with the PS Beta “Generative Fill” and here is my resulting image. Fun!

This image was slightly modified with the help of artificial intelligence. I used Photoshop's generative fill to increase the size of the tree's crown so that it extends further above the road. You can compare the image with the original here:

This lonely side street is found in Burgenland/Austria near the town of Halbturn. It is a very flat area, an extension of the Hungarian Plain to the west.
I shot this rusty vehicle in Nelson, Nevada earlier this year. I didn't like the busy environment filled with detritus that it was in, so I played with Generative Fill in Photoshop. I specified a desert setting and this is what I got!

The Trans Canada Trail runs 24,134 km (14,996 mi) from coast to coast to coast in Canada. No, Canada is neither that wide or long, but it goes from the Atlantic to the Pacific and also to the Arctic and has many twists and turns along the way.
A section of it, shown in the photo, runs through our town and very near our house. It is not all as typically trail-like as in this photo, for the route does also go through communities, such as ours, before it becomes more trail-like again.
In these two photos, I have used AI to add either a snowmobile or deer for a focal point of interest.
By the way, it has been officially dubbed The Great Trail, but I am not sure if anyone calls it that, and that is not what the trail signs describe when you encounter them.

I have started playing with the newly released Photoshop beta that includes a generative text AI tool called "generative fill". I have decided to try my hand at creating my first Flickr group to see if I can generate some interest in exploring this new tool. I know there's a lot of controversy about AI these days, but I feel that Adobe is making a good faith effort to avoid trampling on copyrights & encouraging ethical use. The name of my new group is "AI-Assisted Photography" & if you're using AI-tools to enhance your existing photography, I hope you will consider joining.
This is a seascape taken in Bandon, Oregon that I added background fog elements & foreground skeletal elements to using generative text.

A bright-eyed Shetland horse foal, standing in a field of spring daisies and buttercups, seems to be trying to smile for the camera. The breed can be dated back as far as the bronze age. Photographed on a breeding farm. Generative fill was used to remove a distant adult horse from the background.

I wasn’t expecting this—but the iPhone completely outshone my mirrorless camera in this shot. The moment I framed the scene, it just felt right—the exposure, the balance, the glow in the sky. Meanwhile, my Sony setup forced me to shoot a stop underexposed. With no tripod and a crowded street, everything in the viewfinder looked nearly pitch black.
What really brought this image to life was a little help from AI. This street is never empty, even after sunset. I took another shot from a block farther back—arguably the stronger composition—but it was packed with people. Removing that many cleanly is still a work in progress. Here, though, the tool worked beautifully. No more waiting, no more dodging tourists—just a clean frame and the right light.
I actually returned to the same street the next morning around 4 a.m., hoping for a better shot without people. But I got slightly lost, and by the time I arrived, the sun was already up. The light felt flat, less poetic. That’s when I realized: I’d already caught the moment I was after. Not with my best lens, but with my eyes open—and my phone ready.
Sure, if you’re obsessed with pixel-level detail, a proper camera still wins. But in this moment, the iPhone held its own—and then some.
