Stopped at the CTC plant at Coteau Est, CN L591 have to wait for VIA 62's passage, before crossing over the south track and head into the connecting track, linking the Kingston and Valleyfield subdivisions.

Der Verlauf des Po von West nach Ost quer durch die dicht besiedelte Ebene, der er seinen Namen gab, bedingt es, dass er eine Vielzahl wichtiger Verkehrswege schneidet. Entsprechend sahen sich bereits viele Generationen damit konfrontiert, Italiens längsten Strom mit Brücken überspannen zu müssen, um dem Handel über die natürliche Barriere zu helfen. Dabei machten sie sich jeweils die neuesten technischen Errungenschaften ihrer Zeit zu Nutzen, sodass sich heute von der historischen Steinbogenkonstruktion bis zur modernen Schrägseilbrücke eine immense brückenarchitektonische Bandbreite entlang der 650 Flusskilometer aufreiht.
Zu den in ihrer Dimension eindrucksvollsten Kunstbauten zählt die Eisenbahnbrücke von Piacenza, die auf gut 750 Metern Länge das lombardische mit dem emilianischen Ufer verbindet. Ihr heutiges Erscheinungsbild mit stählernen Halbparabelträgern erhielt sie bei ihrem (letzten) Wiederaufbau nach dem 2. Weltkrieg. Einen Flussübergang für die Strecke Mailand - Bologna gab es an der Stelle jedoch schon seit 1861: Zunächst als provisorische Holzbrücke, später als eingleisige schmiedeeiserne Gitterträgerbrücke und in den letzten Jahren vor der kriegsbedingten Zerstörung auch bereits als zweigleisige Stahlkonstruktion.
Um den rostroten Giganten komprimiert ins Bild zu setzen, bietet sich am südlichen Brückenkopf mit etwas Zirkelei eine schöne Tele-Perspektive. Nach einigen Steuer- und Triebwagenbildern, die nicht wirklich begeistern konnten, klappte deren Umsetzung am 28. November 2023 kurz vor "Licht aus" doch noch mit einem echten Lokklassiker. Das zufriedene Lächeln eines vollauf gelungenen Fototags aufs Gesicht zauberte uns der "Tigre" E 652 082, der mit MRI 48025 ([Mulhouse Nord -] Domo II - Fossacesia-Torino di Sangro) südwärts unterwegs war.

In full colour, it almost looked like a B&W image except for the Blue painted old generators and the openings around the overhead doors. I created a B&W version layer where I brought back about 15% of the background colour and 100% of the actual blue.
