My Generation Rock is an event that hosts entertainment from local bands, artists and acts to raise money for charity. MGR takes place many times over summer from April-September. Funkstar Dance Mini, Junior and Senior Teams were delighted to be asked to open My Generation Rock at Vale Park on Saturday 17th April.
This was the first time the Minis had performed outside at an open air event. They performed so well that somebody made a special request for them to perform again, well done!
Funkstar brought in the crowds, fun and sun. Everybody had a great time being entertained, eating ice creams and sunning themselves on the deck chairs!

Jak současní mladí umělci ve své tvorbě reflektují každodenní samozřejmou přítomnost digitálních obrazů, chytrých technologií a sociálních sítí? / How contemporary young artists reflects everyday presence of digital images, smart technologies and social networks?
Výstavy se účastní dvaadvacet uměleckých subjektů, tedy individuálních tvůrců, dvojic či uměleckých skupin. Kurátoři přehlídky David Kořínek a Milan Mikuláštík dali prostor těm nejmladším, často ještě studujícím talentům, aby se pokusili zodpovědět otázku:
Jak současní mladí umělci ve své tvorbě reflektují každodenní samozřejmou přítomnost digitálních obrazů, chytrých technologií a sociálních sítí?
Kurátoři vycházejí z předpokladu, že se umění v posledních dvaceti letech změnilo a za hybatel této změny považují internet, jehož masové rozšíření se datuje do poloviny devadesátých let 20. století. Dalším významným činitelem ovlivňujícím podobu současného umění jsou takzvané smart technologie a sociální sítě jako je například Facebook. Umělecký názor zúčastněných mladých umělců se vytvářel v době, kdy již internet existoval, tito jej proto považují za zcela běžnou součást světa a společnosti. To se pak odráží nejen v práci s novými médii, ale ovlivňuje podobu veškerých uměleckých výstupů, včetně obrazu, fotografie či sochy, ale přirozeně také grafického designu, jehož protagonisté jsou na výstavě také přítomni. Výstava je českým příspěvkem k diskusi o aktuálních tendencích na světové umělecké scéně, pro které se vžil termín “post-internetové umění”.
A colorful patch of shield bug eggs are affixed to a dogwood leaf.
The cluster is approximately 1/2" (12.7mm) triangle. Interestingly, this egg mass was at the same location as a previous one from last year, even though last year's leaves had turned color and fell off last fall.
The egg cases are very hard and adhere to the leaf incredibly tight.
