He was always looking for the next big thing, the next challenge, the next thrill. He loved his skateboard, his faithful companion through thick and thin. He felt free when he was skating, like nothing could stop him. He dreamed of skating into the future, of seeing what wonders awaited him. He imagined flying cars, holograms, robots, and all kinds of cool stuff. He wanted to skate on them, over them, around them. He wanted to be the first to explore the unknown, to make his mark on history. He was a skater, and he was ready for anything.

Vintage JBL fans should know what WX-A means, Walnut veneer finished cabinet with Alnico (mid and bass) drivers.
4311 family has a long line up with the original 4311 and 4311A in studio grey paint cabinet with Alnico mid and bass drivers, 4311 WX is an option with oiled walnut veneer. 4311B in grey paint cabinet and equipped with Ferrite mid and bass drivers and 4311B-WX is in oiled Walnut. All models use Ferrite tweeters with slightly different designs between A and B models.
People believe speaker drivers using Alnico magnet generate more dynamic sounds, since all my vintage JBL are equipped with Alnico drivers, I can't compare how Ferrite drivers perform.
Note: Alnico drivers were gradually replaced by Ferrite drivers in the late 1970's, the reason is the world's only supply of cobalt in Zaire has stopped. Including JBL speaker manufacturers must switch to Ferrite material and yet JBL has redesigned the structure of their drivers to maintain the magnetic energy. Since JBL succeed to convert individual speaker units, therefore all transformed speaker models like the 4311B, 4350B, L200B, L300 Summit, can keep the overall design with the same sound characters.

Rundl power plant (Click here to see all the shots of Kraftwerk Rundl)
In 1900 it was decided to build the first power plant of the region to supply the city of Brixen with electric current: an isolated plot of land near the town of Schabs, down in the canyon of Rienz river, was chosen as the site for hydroelectric power station "Rundl". A couple of years later, on December 18th 1903, electric lights illuminated the city centre for the first time. Unfortunately in the 1940s the newly built dams rendered this power plant useless: turbines and other machinery were removed and the buildings were soon abandoned. As of today, Kraftwerk Rundl is still at its place, looking like a fairytale castle and standing in the middle of overgrown trees. The roar of the the river flowing violently and the loneliness of the site make this a spooky - but fascinating - location.

A quick edit that I have produced using a real photo of the NNRG's preserved Leyland National 2: 4710 - FTN710W and a computer generated edit of their 4861 - UPT681V. 4710 is in NBC Northern red, with 4681 in a post-deregulation Northern red/white livery.
4681 is currently under restoration in the ownership of the NNRG.
hopefully to be taken outside soon. As soon as the Austin city streets clear up from this SXSW craziness!
