Polish Air Force F-16C In the Mach Loop low flying training area, Snodonia, Wales. A good test for my new Canon R5 MkII, what an incredibly impressive camera it is! _J9A1240
Part of the Peace Gate III deal with Pakistan, tail 90-0952 was embargoed after the sale due to Pakistan's refusal to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. This tail along with 4 sister F-16B models were then stored on "engine run only" status for several years at AMARC in Arizona. 0952 was brought to Edwards AFB, CA in 2003, and on this particular day, serves as a chase ship during an F-22 test flight. Seems a shame to have an empty back seat like that!

Nine years ago today, our travelling party finally got its Red Flag Alaska tanker ride after attempt #1 was snowed off.
Due to the number of photographers on board, we essentially only got to shoot one receiver each. Mine was a Misawa-based F-16D from the 35th FW.
Our flight took place aboard 60th AMW KC-10A 83-0076, callsign Gassy 06 (I think!).

An F-16 of the home team taking off from Kleine Brogel. This sight will soon be history.
Cambrai,
The French held an open day at Cambrai when the Tiger Meet was on. Good thinking!
Most tigers were parked on the flightline and many of them flew.
After the 20th TFW left Upper Heyford in December 1993, 68-0083 went to the 27th TFW at Canon AFB. The Vark arrived at AMARC in 1993 and left to one of the local scrapyards in 2009.
Brustem, 10 September 1989.
The first Belgian F-16B was 10 years in service in 1989.
FB01 was sold to Jordan and still in service in 2018.

This F-16A should have become 93740 with the Pakistan Air Force under Peace Gate IV, however, it was embargoed prior to delivery and placed in storage at AMARC (as it was known at the time). It entered service with the US Navy's Naval Strike Air Warfare Center "Top Gun" a full nine years later.
It's pictured here from the top of the Air Traffic Control Tower at NAS Fallon in February 2007.

I can't believe it's almost 11 years since I saw my last F-111! So glad we made the trip to Nellis AFB for Red Flag 07-2 to catch these beauties, even if they didn't fly as much as I'd have liked!

Leeuwarden, 6 December 1989.
J-222 left Leeuwarden that day and flew all the way to Tucson in Arizona. For the occasion it was decorated with the markings of 148th Tactical Fighter Training Squadron of the Arizona Air National Guard.
Volkel, 7 October 2010
A very rare sight. Two F-16s taking off simultaneously on two runways. This happened at Volkel during the Tiger Meet in 2010. J-638 (311 squadron) is on the parallel runway. J-369 (313 squadron) in on the main runway. The weather was horrible that day.
Today, 15 September 2024, it's exactly 45 years since I first saw an F-16. F-16B J-259 was on static at Twenthe open day in 1979 and later that day F-16A J-213 flew a display.
